My wide feet!

I'd like to try on stuff when it comes to clothes and especially foot wear before buying, especially since I do have wide feet (yeah yeah, I'm flat footed). Any suggestions places where I can try on proper footwear here in Toronto? I don't think I'd find what I need at Markswork.

Yeah, sorry I didn't make that clear enough and plus I figured that a place like Markswork Warehouse wouldn't carry them.

Taking a long shot here but I'll guess you own shoes already. What size are they?
I can get boots for you in Tan or Black. WIDE and X-WIDE about $50.00. I need to know the size.
Cheers

Thanks Coach

You can also try R Nicholls. http://www.rnicholls.com/en/index.php. Like you I also am flat footed and have very wide feet. You should get yourself properly measured footwise. Standard width for mens shoes/boots is "D" then it goes to "E", "2E", "3E", "4E". Most of the time "Wide" is "E" and is usually still to small for me. Im a "4E", its pretty damn hard to find a good variety in those sizes if not impossible. Also be prepared to pay a lot. I hate shoe shopping, so I buy for comfort and fit and the most durable I can find so I can put it off as long as I can, which means around $150-200+ range.

If you go to Nicholls I recommend the Magnum's, I've had mine for 1-2 years and they have yet to let me down.

Magnum's are reasonable quality, very comfortable, and exceptionally light weight. I found that they don't hold a shine or polish well at all and seem to wear as well as any other type of boot.
The closest Nicholls to you is located at Dixie Rd and Cortney park in Mississauga.

They also aren't waterproof, mine look like shit as I use them indoor/outdoor, they are impossible to shine. I only reccomend the Magnums as those are the only ones Ive used long term. But basically go with what works best with you.

LOL...yeah, that too.
I have the same issue with my Oakley SI Tacticals, but I have found that a regular dousing of food grade silicone (after a good cleaning) really helps with the water.

For polishing magnums you need to use the right brands of polish. I use magnums as both field boots and parade boots in the army. I only have one pair so they get worn for 4 months of the year straight. I use the crappy kiwi liquid polish to blacken the sole of the boot then use the tarrago polish that comes in a glass bottle with an applicator sponge. My boots look good and hold a shine. I usually go two weeks without polishing them. The tarrago polish is stellar it was meant to be used on gortex boots but I use it on all my boots.

Thanks for the info bean, I was never really concerned about how my boots looked so long as they served there function. Is there any benefit to polishing them besides looks? ie (waterproofing/more durbaility)
