KAC URX3 vs Vikingtactic extreme battlerail 13"

Hi All,

I think I could use some help here, I am recently upgrading my rifle and I am looking into the 13" rail systems. One is the KAC URX3 which can be found on oneshottactical, out of stock right now and got no ETA; the other is the Vtac 13" which is cheaper and easier to get. I still debating on which one to take, however I'd like to hear from other shooters here, see which one has better field performance according to your experience and which one would you choose from the two. Any input would be appreciated.

I personally like the look of the Troy/VTac TRX. If you want "hole" cutouts instead of "slots" try looking at the original Troy TRX.

The VTac rail is used in 3 gun competitions and seems to be one of the favouries other than mainstays like Bushmaster Match or JP Rifles handguards so if you're going for that look try those.

The URX just kind of looks weird to me. The other rail system I kind of like the look of (that's a similar style to the URX) is the Samson/Adams Arms Evolution rails.

If you want a traditional "fixed" quad rail the SWS/Noveske rail comes as long as 12-5/8" which is close to 13".

Thanks for the input guys, I'd say, looking good is not a must for me, I am always performance 1st, looking 2nd. I chose these two systems for a reason, My hands are not big, I don't really feel comfortable when griping on a rail system with rails on every sides; I like these two's slim body and capability of adding rail panel on them. so lets stay our debate between these two.

One more question: will the Madbull vtac clone fit on the WE/Real steel body? I've seen someone selling a real VTAC but not in the colour I want, I might go with the Madbull clone since they have the colour.

Thanks

I know someone who installed a Madbull Troy TRX onto a KJWorks AR15. I'm not sure if the upper threads are the same but if they are then great for you, if not then you might have to get some clarification.

I believe however that the WE upper threads are the same as "real steel" threading or "G&P" threading. IIRC it's WE, WA, G&P, and SystemA that are the same type of threading for the uppers.

I was able to install both a Madbull OmegaX rail and a GBtech (VFC) KAC RAS on my WEs. Fit perfectly.

thats good to know, thanks everyone for you valuable comment, I'll contact oneshottactical , see if they can work the URX3 out, worst case scenario I still can go for the Madbull clone.

If you have a means of getting it into Canada, ordering direct from Troy is mega cheap. Combined with a coupon code, I remember it being only $40 or $50 more for the real deal vs. the Madbull unit.

Just for you to reference, its a build done by my brother "Noveske"

He installed the RS KAC URX 3 on a VFC SR16

For having the username "Noveske" he sure does seem to have a lot of Magpul and KAC stuff on his rifle, there's even what appears to be a Larue handstop there too. :P

I saw his post on Wargameyau, pretty impressive built though, what makes me really want a URX3 is the one from Gino and my buddy Jupiterl's real steel built. it's very comfortable when griping on the front set without rails, too bad the Only KAC dealer here seem to be too busy to reply me, I guess I have to find an alternative instead.

Or maybe someone here wanna sell me their pieces?

Sigh...

hahaha he is one of the biggest magpul fan boys I know. however reason for his user is probably because his main workhorse is a noveske SBR.....covered with tons of Magpul goodies

I totally would've gone with the KAC URX, but the barrel nut is almost half the cost of the rail itself. What's up with that??

Noveske SBR huh? I'm trying to build up a Noveske 7.5" "Diplomat" SBR right now (if you're back in Van, it's hidden away in parts at the Airsoft Gear store waiting on some more parts).
