Streamlight TLR-2 with strobe

Hey guys, just picked up a streamlight tlr2 and was wandering if anyone could enlighten me on the programming for the strobe function. Basically I wanna disable it permanently as currently 2 clicks within 3 seconds will cause it to strobe. Kinda neat but a little irritating sometimes. I read somewhere you should be able to reprogram it to turn it off but I can't seem to find directions at all on how to do this.

Anyone able to enlighten me? Also don't say use ur manual because there is no reference to the strobe function at all there. Any help is much appreciated.

It's been awhile, but I believe if you tap the rocker switch twice, as if double clicking on a mouse, it activates or deactivates the strobe. Once the strobe is activated, you can push the rocker up for momentary on, or down, and past the lock detent for constant on until the rocker is returned to the original position.

Found it, on the fact sheet on Streamlight's website:
http://www.streamlight.com/documents/fact-sheet/252.pdf
Quote:
Double tap of momentary paddle within 0.4 seconds activates strobe. (TLR-2®s only)
If I had a choice, I'd get the non-strobe model instead of the TLR-2s, I find it cumbersome to engage or disengage having to double tap, and would rather have a separate switch or button that engages the feature.

maybe i got a defective one because it toggles between strobe and normal modes if u double tp anywhere within about 3 seconds rather than 0.4 lol - not a big deal but i may just call em and find out.

No. Your unit works as it should - doubletap activates strobe. I think what you are trying to do is to turn it off completely. I remember something like you had to tap it 14 times or something to do that. I will let you know how it is done once I get home and look through the manual...

from the manual: the light can be reprogrammed to disable strobe by tapping momentary seitch nine times and holding it down on tenth. After one second the light will turn off to indicate reprogramming was successful. Repeat the procedure to re-enable

@Berkut

Is this the same programming for the TLR-1s models?
