Duplicating Enhanced Grip Pads for PMAGS

I'm looking for a source of the grip sheets/panels/strips like http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=sho...product_id=792

When I was in IT, I used something I'm sure was the same thing, as bumpers/grip feet, and so feel that Rainier's arms is way out to lunch with pricing. I swear I'm having a blond moment, because I can't remember where I could get large sheets.

I have a friend that can have custom 'cutting' stamps made, so I can get the exact cuts I need, I just need a source of the pad.

Maybe try a hardware place like crappy tire, rona, lowes, home depot. looks like that sticky traction rubber matting

Lol geeze Pmags have enough grip on 'em already!

You could try some Skateboard shops, they might have coarse grip-tape that would work.

Why put rubber on your mags? Kinda retarded. Rubber grips on fabric... It'd make your mags harder to pull out.... So your highspeed setup is now lowspeed.

I suppose you could cover your entire magazine with it, but most people that I see run them, the grip tape, only cover the portions where their fingers would be placed when indexing for magazines during a speed reload from kydex setup, competition rigs, but then again thats what I've seen.

These same individuals tend to index their magazines a certain way, those that have their magazines positioned with rounds, bullet tips, facing the center-line of their body. Basically indexing a rifle mag the same way they would do it for a pistol mag, leading to better efficiency and consistency. However, if you prefer the "beer-can-grip", indexing magazines that are stored with rounds facing away from the center line, then you get a slightly more postive grip than indexing the rifle magazine like a pistol mag.

Different strokes for different folks, I personally don't see a great advantage to it myself, but I haven't gotten to the level of split times during reloading to notice any significant difference between using grip tape on mags and not.

Hmmm... wiseasses abound. I would have prefered, been there, done that, didn't work, instead of just assuming it doesn't have a function. yes, Rainier is basically infomercialling this, and how much of it is a gucci gear factor... but it's also for me to see if it actually has some use.

I'm asking for help on how to try it, so then I can be the been there, done that, didn't work guy. I would prefer to try them out myself with $5 invested rather than an agency purchase of thousands of dollars. I'm willing to use some of my money to possibly prevent a future bad purchase decision.

I'm actually hoping the grip foam will help with the extraction of the magazine from the gun when reloading. PMAGs are great, I love them, but get some rain on them and they're a bit slick. Skateboard grip tape does not work properly when pulling from the pouch, when you're using military pouches instead of IPSC. You end up shredding your nylon over time and just gets annoying, because of the grit/sand embedded in it.

So, any other suggestions of where to buy?

I'm sure if you sift the 3M product listings you'll be able to find this in its base form but the ones they have are most likely die-cut so you'll either be making your own cookie cutter deal, or trimming them with scissors.

Maybe if you got lucky you could find a pre-cut no slip sheet, like a bathtub grip ("Help I've fallen and can't get up,,,,,,,,,,too soon?) and get a pre-cut round dot that'd fit in the squares.
