Which VFC M4 Variant?

Well new to airsoft a buddy got me just started .
And I have played a few games, and am now looking to purchase a gun.
I have a 800$ Budget to play around with (gun only), and from what I have heard VFC is the best M4's in that range.

Have a few questions.

Are the the variant the same internally?

I mostly play outdoors (400 FPS limit), and would like a gun that is light not a huge barrel, but still has great distance and accuracy.

I was also curious to see on a site starting with "Trigger" a retailer, I noticed they have normal VFC and *MODDED" VFC's that are almost 1/4 of the price, what is the difference?

Can these guns run 11.1 out of the box? or will the damage be significant ?

Basically what I am asking is what, not massive VFC M4 should I get for outdoor play.

I'd say SR16 Carbine or MK18 Mod 1.

Yes pretty much all the same inside; some changes for the budget platforms.

There are two different versions as far as I can tell. The E series and the regular one. The only difference Im aware of is that some little bits such as mag release and ire selector are pot metal instead of steel in the e-series. Your other option is the Daniel defense and Noveske line of socom gear, made by vfc.

You should be able to run an 11.1V OOTB.

Just don't be stupid and you'll have no problems. Whenever I've seen crap happen it's usually because people are holding down the trigger for extended periods of time or not taking care of their crap. Doesn't mean that it's a perfect system but I've seen very few lemons from VFC. However, I have seen the stock pistons (the clear ones) shred themselves.

IMO if you run it at like 380-395 FPS and do short bursts with an 11.1 and don't throw it around or try to use it as a crow bar it should last you.

If they still make it the "quake" is a fantastic vfc AR platform. I've had mine for a few years now running stock, using 11.1 lipo from the start and it's still running like a top. I only run it outdoors and it has served me well.

Hope this helps.

Yeah it depends on what platform you're comfortable with (i.e. light or heavy). Myself I run with the PDW as my primary because I love a lighter and quicker load out. I just had a little work done to it and it outranges pretty much everything at the field that I play at (which is outdoor).

Slapped a new piston and piston head in there to replace the kinda junky stock one, new tappet plate, then got an extended tightbore barrel that runs out past the outer barrel and put a suppressor on to mask it and dropped in a stronger spring. Shoots 390 consistently and the hop up is great.
