I don't play often enough to justify using MOSFET. Also, LiPo power isn't something I'm interested in.

I love the design but I would be curious to see their heat sink math... Then again we don't have all the specs.

Anyone know what microcontroller is on that? A 32 pin Atmel something? I wonder why they need that much IOs...

What's terrible about them (besides the Engrish)? We're working with Gate to update the manual at this time.

Truth be told, they're no worse than a lot of the posts on this forum...and while the grammar/wording is poor it's enough to get the job done. In fact, I think that the wording/instructions are too wordy, a series of pictures would have been more effective.

It would be good to supplement the manual with a how-to video as that seems to be a very effective way to get information through and it's becoming the norm.

I think it's great and the basic MOSFET looks very nicely done. For $20 it's a steal.

Sure thing Horto. It would be great for the pig and I'd be interested to see how well it can be tucked into a stock pipe.

Okay now i need a little advice, i was going to get the fancy control unit but now i don't know if i should, i was on the airsoft store canada site and i seen a MOSFET's section, so i did a little reading and it was saying to get a non-Activebraking FET. so i'm left with the basic FET, its obviously a fantastic price but i was wondering does it work as a lipo alarm or does it monitor the battery at all ? and does the basic FET offer the same type of protection that the Advance FET does ? I'm also very new to Lipo's i'm hooked after feeling the trigger response of lipo's so i'm sorry for asking the newbie type questions. but thanks for the help though!

Yeah we typically don't like to use Active Braking because it's just taxing on the motor. The upside is that it does abruptly stop your motor so if you're running a very high speed setup or a huge battery and motor combo you won't double-shoot on semi and the trigger response will seem more "crisp"

The MERF 3.2 comes with Active Braking and you can't disable it. But it does have all the other bells and whistles that you're looking for like the lipo alarm, short circuit protection and thermal protection, 3rd burst, and Smart Trigger.

The GDS-4005 does not have active braking, nor battery monitoring. But honestly, if you're running a lipo and the ROF drops off suddenly, stop shooting. I never really understood the need for such a thing. When my gun's ROF slows drastically, I'm still at a safe lipo level (>3V per cell)

Again, as with all things, it depends on your setup and your performance goals.

Okay so that does clear everything up a lot actually, well my setup is almost stock, i'm not trying to go for the crazy 60rps, i mostly want a crisper and better trigger response to be honest i couldn't care less about my ROF

i'm only running a 7.4 so the advance FET is nice with all the bells and whistles but at the same time they kinda don't really apply to me, and your right if i'm playing and i can tell the battery is dying just stop shooting and ill be fine just go home and balance charge the battery and just make sure its in good condition still,

and yeah like i said before i don't really want the crazy fast ROF i'm more so just looking for a more consistent trigger response so i guess the basic FET is a perfect match!

Thanks Stealth!

Just wrapped up the Unboxing/Overview video.

http://youtu.be/TXSOTUxIUCs

We also have an upcoming video with the GDS-4005 hooked up to a brand new Lonex box running an SP150 spring, 18:1 gears, Lonex A1 motor and 11.1v lipo going all out, so stay tuned for that.

Nice video with close ups. Will you be doing an install video for both?

Edit: does the use of the single or double trigger wire eliminate the need for the programming switch?
