I am not sure. I have a bunch of other guns, and just to make sure I compared it with a CA M4 and made sure I turned them both the same way. I was. However the M4 hider came off (I've taken off 4 of my epoxied flashhiders). The 249 didn't. When I was twisting as hard as I could, and just scraping metal off THROUGH rags, I gave up.
