Silicone Oil

I was just wondering as I am new to airsoft if this silicone spray is legit to use. Its from Canadian Tire. Thanks.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that this is for my AEG not a GBB

Yes its safe, used it for a long time (until I sold all my guns)

Some people will tell you not to use it because the propellant is a hydrocarbon. Ignore them. they are stupid.

Just to let you know that silicon spray contains petroleum distillates and will damage your o-rings/plastic or rubber parts of your gun. So I would not recommend it, I was just there today looking for some and all the ones availible at canadian tire contained petroeum distillates. Getting it online is your best bet. This stuff is your best bet. Works perfectly for airsoft. AI dont sell silicone spray, only concentrate oil for propane tanks. That oil should not be used to lube AEGs ot GBB moving parts.

Yes, Sorry I forgot he was asking about spray. And as for moving parts I hear many use a silicon grease or other greases/lubricants either than silicon oil because of its viscosity and "seeping".

So do they sell this online or is available in a store like Canadian Tire? Thanks again for this, it really helps.

What did I say. People are stupid.

Use the canadian tire one. REALLY it will work fine. It will not hurt your gun if used properly.

I found some info on this lube but it says its grease, not spray. Can you still use grease to clean your barrel and hop-up chamber after use with your gun? Or is the grease used for cleaning other parts?

sorry if I'm asking too many questions...

I believe it is used for parts, like the blowback mechanisms. As for the barrel and hop up, I'm pretty sure sillicon oil is used to lubricate those. I know the barrel is for sure.

Regards,
Heyds

You shouldn't be using silicone oil to clean your barrel anyway, it's a film lubricant lol
Use windex! VERY effective

Weren't we talking about lubricating? Cause to clean you just use little pieces of lint cloth or paper towl through your barrel till its clean from what I've learned. Windex eh? Interesting I will have to check it out.

Regards,
Heyds
