ghillie issue

hi, i've made loads of ghillies before but the one thing that i have not been able to find is the canvas the you put on the front of your BDU's, flight jacket, etc. Do i have to order it or can i get it from a local store, canadian tire, home depot, etc.
any help would be greatly apreciated, thanks

I made my first one with Cordura I bought from a Tack Shop (Horse equipment store) They usually keep lots on hand for repairing horse blankets.

For canvas try and art supply store. There are other materials like cordura or cotton duck that you could use aswell. I used some cotton duck ( old pair of carhartt coverarlls) on my latest ghillie.

I used a packing blanket with a burlap(esk) side for my first attempt.

Go into the gardening section at any of the hardware stores you mentioned and you can find burlap for wrapping trees for the winter, 5 bucks for a couple square meters. When hunting season comes back around you can find burlap printed with "real tree" camo on one side for making a "hide". Also may want to use jute twine to help "hairy" it up, you can find that in the crafts sections.
