Performance vs Utility Upgrade
So I'm at a fork in the road of upgrading. I have two options presented to me:
Option #1; Performance (Internal) Upgrade: As of right now, I am satisfied with how my rifle is performing. I'm getting quite accurate shots ever since the barrel extension upgrade, ROF isn't exactly on a priority, but I'm content with it for the time being. range is actually doing quite well considering the FPS. The only thing I'd like to increase is the FPS. Right now, I'm shooting 320FPS (roughly) with 0.20g. I'd like to see that go higher, but it's not bugging me to no end or anything to make that upgrade. The entire list of internal upgrades that would be done is as follows: * 1ea.- Modify S110 AEG Upgrade Spring * 1ea.- Modify V2/V3/V6 High Torque Gearset * 1ea.- Modify Enhanced Tappet - V3 * 1ea.- Modify Enhanced Cylinder Head - V3 (Except AUG) * 1ea.- Modify Stainless Steel Shims * 1ea.- Modify Bearing Spring Guide - V3 * 1ea.- Modify Polycarbonate Piston - Full Teeth * 1ea.- Modify Air Seal Nozzle - SIG Series Comes up to about $161.00 total. This is all done to replace the stock plastic parts that I've been advised to replace, as well as make the first steps towards building a high-torque set-up. Option #2; Utility (Gear) Upgrade: I am not exactly pleased with only being capable of carrying 4 magazines with me at all times, unless I want to indefinitely have one 1 mag in the gun. My current holding capacity is limited. I only have 2 drop-leg panels that each can hold 2 mags. As of right now, I do not wear a vest. I hate my vest with a passion, it's uncomfortable to hell. I did, however, find a vest that I believe will suit my needs. Shown here. This vest would give me an additional 3-5 magazine capacity, as well as being able to bring a bottle of water with me on the field instead of dying from dehydration half way through a game. As well, an additional 4 more mags would be purchased, bringing my total to 8. The total of this would come up to around $120.00 if I did my math right. So I'm asking the more experienced players out there, what's probably more important at this time? I am satisfied with my rifle's performance, but it could be better. At the same time, I feel like I can't perform much due to utility reasons. I can't exactly give supporting fire when I'm easily able to be entirely blank for ammunition suprisingly quickly. I usually end up being support or recon, and as a result need ammunition at my disposal. Unfortunately, I cannot afford both upgrades. I limit myself to one significant upgrade every month or two due to income, which is why I'm asking. Thanks for the help, ASC

Get gear first. Upgrade gun later.

That vest should hold 2 per a mag pouch. So 6 more mags on top of your already 4. 10 is a good carry number for low caps. I personally carry 9 m14 mags or 10 ak mags depending on my rifle for the day.
With it being summer i cant stress the need for proper hydration. I carry a 3L camel back and i finish it nearly every game day in the summer. The game this weekend ill be going to in Kamloops ill be carrying an extra 1L of poweraid with me to keep my electrolytes up, but its a Milsim so we wont be stopping at any point in the day and were expecting 30+ weather. Personally if i were you id go with the vest over the upgrades. More mags and proper hydration will keep you going longer in a day.

Skills or training stay with, gear can crossover to a few weapons but upgrades stay in the gun, and may open their own can of worms.
I think I'd get this if I wanted a budget rig in Canada, http://ascmart.ca/popup_image.php?pID=62&image=0 http://ascmart.ca/product_info.php?c...products_id=62 Or this if I wanted a nice one. http://ascmart.ca/product_info.php?c...products_id=54

I'm not experienced, but dude you don't need to have a gun that shoots 400 FPS in order to tag someone and let them feel it. I saw some JGs on Youtube, cheap little things, chrono at 330FPS but were easily tagging targets out to 150ft

I'd say work on your skills first(No, honestly). People usually think that if they have a crazy performing gun and really nice expensive gear, then they can easily own everyone on the field.
It's really not true, the skill of the operator themselves goes a long way. There are guys who can have firefight against AEGs only with a pistol and still win. That being said, I would suggest getting the gear first. Having the gun shooting at Lower FPS forces you to rely more on your skills than your gun. Hope that helps |

I don't expect the gun to be a performance carrier. It's like having good guitar or something. Just because you have it, doesn't make you a good guitar player. You're just a dolt with an expensive piece of equipment. The FPS increase is not a "you can feel it when it hits you" factor. It's more to increase the effective range, as I usually end up doing semi-auto long-range shots (Let's say about 200ft-400ft for arguments sake). If I was hell-bent on expensive gun = good player outlook, I'd have bought a $2500 gun.
I went ahead and purchased the vest, and the mags will be purchased next week once I get a paycheque. I'm also a firm believer that it's the ability of the player that creates the efficiency of the weapon they use, but I'm also edgy on the plastic parts possibly fucking up on me. :\ Thanks for the words, guys.

You won't be shooting that far with a regular AEG. Not over 200ft.

FPS doesn't = range.
Matching your hop-up bucking's rating and your FPS = range. |
