Read my original reply to you.

There's usually someone selling BB Bastards at games in the Montreal area. Just ask on the game thread.

You know, now I just feel like building a small nest out of twigs and pocket lint and putting an assortment of 6 and 8mm BBs (maybe include some tracers for extra WTF factor) and leaving it out in park come spring for people to find.

Just to fuck with their heads. :P

On the contrary to what most people have said, i have been using bio BB's for many years now without problems. I have personally used Excel .25's and the new G&G .25's. Don't expect these bb's to degrade after a couple weeks... it will still take quite a while (still finding bb's outside from several months back) for them to completely degrade. But remember that non biodegradable plastic is oil based and will take tens, if not hundreds of years to completely degrade.

As long as you choose the right brand of biodegradable BB's (mentioned above) they will work just as well a non bio BB with the added bonus of bio environmentally friendlier.

i doubt that since one million bbs is 250 kg's of plastic that you are dumping into the woods (or wherever you play). You wouldn't throw 100's of plastic bags into the forest would you? A 1kg bag of bbs is a lot of plastic bags.

Degrade by what I meant over a couple or few weeks means to become a bit stale, increasing the chances of breaking into shards and powder (as there have been cases in recent years, largely the bio BBs sold at Walmart that come in sealed packs that are apparentely quite good) and is why bio BBs are largely banned from use at fields due to safety issues.

as someone who wears a mesh mask, I cannot stand these things, I don't fuck around with my eyes, not trying to be Captain Planet over here.

Even had part in an incident where a bio BB turned to dust on the edge of a player's goggles, shard stung his nose and the dust went inside the lens and irritated his eyes. From there on that field has banned use of bio BBs.

YES. Time wasted.

Biodegradeable bb's from non reputable manufacturers is a definite no go!!
If you could be so fortunate, try to get your hands on Bioval bbb.

They are the last bb you every purchase. The most environmentally friendly bb available in terms of materials used to make it, and the process in which they are made. (no carbon foot print)
Hard as heck, and will degrade after about a year. So premature biodegrading, and all that other bull about the moisture and shelf life being reduced after opening the package is a non -issue.
Performance is unmatched. Japan is 95% biodegradeable bb's and they are serious about performance. If you want quality though you will have to pay, as no other company pumps as much R&D in their product as bioval, and as such, the cost reflects it. It's also why they are impossible to find in Canada.

my $ 0.02

I'm sure once people get over the stereotype of the cheap, crappy bio bb's that come from Wallmart, there will be many fields and players interested in using true biodegradable bb's.

If only there was a retailer who would import some decent bio bb's..
