CYMA RPK or A&K PKM?

CYMA RPK or A&K PKM

In terms of airsoft which is the better gun?
For those that own or have used both which do you prefer?

Both are pretty good weapons but both are pretty different in there uses.
The PKM is honestly a pretty big, heavy weapon. It's a bit unweidly but utilizes the heavy M249 mechbox, has a very large capacity box mag.
The RPK is an excellent choice as well, V3 gearbox, lots of choices for magazines or drum mags and is a bit more easier to use in my mind.
It really comes down to what do you want to haul around.

PKM is a real machinegun
RPK is just an AK with a longer, heavier barrel. Its the C7-LSW of AKs lol

First of all, addressing the price is pretty important. Outside of Canada, the price for the A&K PKM is actually not too bad, but Canadian retailers have the price up pretty high ($700 from TorontoAirsoft, and $680 from Cansoft (http://www.cansoft.biz/www/product_i...roducts_id=444)). As for the CYMA RPK, I've seen new models kicking around the $300-350 price range (http://www.cansoft.biz/www/product_i...roducts_id=139). They are also a lot more common, so you might be able to snag one for cheap.

The factory internals of the CYMA RPK are pretty solid for the price point. I've had the chance to use it about a month ago, and it shot pretty well for being a stock weapon. I have no idea how well the internals of the PKM perform though. However; with the large difference of the prices between the two guns, you could definitely purchase the RPK and put $200-300 into it and make it an absolute monster. If you can tech yourself, you can make upgrading much cheaper. The bonus of using any drum magazines for the RPK is better than the $100 replacement M249 style box magazines.

Lastly, playstyle is pretty important. The PKM is well over a meter long. If you like running around, not only will it be cumbersome, it will be subject to a lot of abuse by snagging objects and branches. The RPK is much more manageable without a box magazine and large body.

If I were you, I would buy the RPK, and start with a tight bore barrel, a better hop up chamber and rubber. Or if you can find it in Canada, a LCT RPK would be ideal over the CYMA RPK. Much better internals, really excellent externals, and I don't know anyone who has a LCT that doesn't love it.

[EDIT]: http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=156583 <--- I can't vouch for the guy or anything, but that is a pretty decent deal.
