Ordering from Ehobbyasia

Me and a buddy have been arguing this for a while now. Can you order full metal guns from Ehobbyasia to Canada without having your guns seized? I have had a look in the faqs but there is nothing directly addressing this particular question. it does say you cannot order into Canada from an outsied country but my buddy says that Ehobby is an exception.

So can somebody please help settle this.

There's "importation" and there's "re-importation". The latter is doable. The former is a crap shoot with the odds seriously stacked against you. If you don't follow the letter to a "t", you're boned. (See http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=128970 for the definition of "boned".)

There is "legal importation" that requires the appropriate paperwork and licensing, but they're not easy to apply for or easy to obtain. The airsoft retailers here have done that legwork already.

From what I've learned, ehobby was able to get a couple of guns in, but fucked up at some point and got tacked on a blacklist.

Getting guns from them now would likely be something of a crapshoot.

Bear in mind Ehobby will tell you totally different... they will tell you that they get many guns in because they are "Canadian Legal" and that one of the guys there used to be in the RCMP (but he won't tell you what division) bla bla bla...

They are a retailer. they are trying to sell a gun to you.

a gun you will NEVER receive.
a gun you will DONATE to Canada Customs
a gun that WILL end up being destroyed
and you WILL be put on the BLACK list and forever more you will be SEARCHED at the border and every package you order will be SEARCHED.

Just plain out DON'T DO IT!!!!!!

I know the prices look appealing, the selection is awesome, their story seems like it will work but it will only end in you being very sad

I can attest to this. Before I knew any of the rules, or of this forum, I ordered a pistol from them. About a month ago now. Waited ever so patiently. Well not really, got bored and bought 2 guns from Jeff at Capital in Edmonton in the meantime lol

Well the box finally showed up one day, complete with fancy yellow tape. Only one problem, everything I ordered was in the box. EXCEPT the pistol.
So now I'm in the middle of gathering forms and mailing shit to customs, all for nothing likely as appeals being won sound rare. Ehobby wont answer my emails now. They were telling me not to worry, no problem at all. Right up until I sent them a copy of the letter from Canada customs. Now, silence...

In case it matters the pistol in question was a TM FN Five-seven gas model. They charged me extra to disassemble it (now I know why) and never even bothered declaring everything on the form. Just listed toy parts. So now I sit and wait again, for an appeal that will never be won. Just ordered a 1911 MEU from Capital, which ain't the pistol I wanted, but will be more fun than the one I bought the customs agent. :banghead:

AFAIK Ehobby has been BLACKLISTED as a retailer and everything originating from them should be opened up by CBSA.

They were good up until the point they started to BS around and skirt the rules. Least to say, it all caught up to them and now they're pretty much screwed and other Asian retailers that kind of follow the rules still lie low under the radar. That's not to say you can order from War4, Guns'n'Guys, UNCo, and not have your prohibited parts seized but at least those guys (to the best of my knowledge) follow the rules and don't misdeclare or lie on their documents and stuff.

I saw this title and knew it would not end in a happy story.

Please Mr. Gopher, get AV'd and buy the guns legally from a retailer.
