My First GBBR

So AEGs are finally losing appeal to me. My GBB pistols are getting much more game time than my rifles since it is the winter and it's mostly indoors only. So I am thinking about a GBBR to mainly wallhang/fondle.

I know SCARs are relatively cheap for GBBRs, but they are quite bland in my opinion. Already got an M16 wallhanger, so don't much see the point in getting another armalite.

Since I do love AKs, I always want another one. What's a decent GBBR AK that won't break the bank? I'm thinking around $600. Bonus points for AK-74's.

No reliable AK right now I'm afraid.

But if you like G36 the WE is really good and for 600 you can have some sweet upgrades.

I hear SRCs are more reliable than the GHK AKS-74U. The bonus to the SRC is that 007 has them in stock right now and the huge bonus is that they field strip and have parts almost identical to the real gun. The bolt carrier is attached to the piston and rod like a real AK so when stripped it looks just like the real deal.

From the general opinion, the GHK AK-74u wasn't reliable. SRC essentialy took their design and mainly modified the "bolt catch function" (more like a bolt stop on a empty mag) and the magazines. There is not a whole lot of info on it though (I'm still digging, planning a first GBBR buy myself).

WE is supposed to put a model out and I personaly would wait up for that offering to compare.

My 2 cents.

This seems to be the best choice for now. Maybe WE will release a full-sized AK-74. That would be great.

Thanks a bunch, guys.

Yup, head down to 007 and try out the SRC. It will make you giggle and you'll fall in love.

Personally, the WE version doesnt look really good.... build material quality wise... SRC used much more durable building material on the ak74 then WE uses on there gbbr....
