KJW M700 disassembly
I was hoping someone could help me out here. I just bought a KJW M700 which did NOT come with a manual. I need to know how to take the rear sight off so that I have full access to the scope rail.
I'd also like to know how to disassemble the bolt so it can be adjusted for velocity. All the posts I've read say "disassemble bolt as shown in your manual". :-? Need to know this tonight because it will be gamed with tomorrow! Many thanks. |

To take out the rear sight: unscreaw the big hight adjustment screw, once that is done the peep sight should flip out. once the peep sight flips up there should be another mini screw ( phillips one i think), use a small screwdriver to remove that and the whole rear sight should fall off.
since the KJW m700 is based on the tanaka m700 this might help http://www.pbase.com/timco/tanaka_m700_manual |

Thats the thread Nortus started on the fps adjustment but I dunno how hard or easy they are to fallow as I haven't had to use them yet. Good luck getting it ready in time.

Well I got the bolt out, although it seems that the striker rod was cranked in all the way already. This puzzles me because it was shooting only ~390 fps on propane. The striker spring hasn't been cut either.
Looks like I'll be ordering a G&G striker spring. I'd like to get this thing up to the 600+ fps it's purported to shoot at, so I at least know I'm getting full performance from it. I'd then dial it down for use in gaming. On a related note, who carries Straight 0.3g BBs? |

An alternative just occurred to me. Why not buy some $0.10 washers from Home Depot and shim the striker spring if I can't adjust the rod any further?
I guess this really ought to be under Doctor's Corner or Modifications...

Let us know how things work out for you.
I'll be working on one of these from stock in a couple of weeks, and will be looking for as much info as I can find to have at the ready for when I start.
