I recently used systema shims and systema ball bearing bushings and did a re-grease. noticed a large improvement in sound and firability. The stock nylon bushings need to be replaced for sure, its only a matter of time before they wear out with an unshimmed gearbox. Other than than save your money and use it on bb's and have fun with the hk 416 theres no sense changing everything at the get go, just upgrade as things wear or break.

hehe maybe i was paranoid, but i changed everything on my 416, went with a kingarms reinforced v2 mechbox, king arms bushings, shimms, piston head, cyclinder head, bearing spring guide, airnozzle, hopup, barrel, and m100 spring(modify makes weird springs)cuz mine shoots at 380fps, and works all good and well

A new hopup and barrel would be the simplest upgrades without having to open the mechbox. Although if you do switch to a 1 piece hopup modifacation too the reciever will be required. As for what brands I will leave the decision and the research up to you.
Thank you for the tips TokyoSeven. A fellow airsofter recommeded that I get the Systema Silent Cylinder Set. Btw, when I change to a one piece hopup i need to change the receiver of my JG HK416 also? Im planning to get the CA one piece hop up and the madbull tight barrel.

Well, you could change the reciever but that would mean you would have to order a new one. A simple modifacation will be required to seat a 1 piece hopup in the stock plastic body. As with any modifacation to a plastic body, becareful as one little slip up and you may ruin the reciever.

Well I gamed with my fully (internally) stock gun, which I've never touched the wiring other than what connects to the motor (took the grip off to paint) and my gun has an electrical gremlin, I believe it to just be a loose connection. BUT other than that, it preformed superbly, even when slung on my back it seemed to just disappear (while running and crawling) and for shooting it cause much much pain. I'll return with the answer to my electrical problem once I get around to fixing it possibly tonight.

Problem was due to crapy abs wires the connectors on the motor will shake loose from large amounts of running/shooting (anything that'll make it vibrate) Gun REALLY needs to have wires replaced. <== my contribution to the review.

What would you recommend for a HK metal body replacement? Gaurder or Hurricane?

Personally, I prefer hurricane.
I like their products, they use good quality materials with decent QC. The price can bite a little but hurricane products are very fine.

That Guarder body has a normal M4 upper, your 416 RIS and receiver will not sit flush.

Interesting tid bit of info there Qlong, thats handy to know!

Honestly for those planning on buying a 416 to upgrade and eventually getting a hurricane kit for an upgrade. I would suggest buying a kit and then a drop in mechbox, new hop up, barrel and motor. Well maybe not, depending on where you purchase I guess. Well now that I think about it there is no real way to go about that cheaper. There is always the vfc 416 though.

Does anyone know of a good place to buy just the Hurricane metal body (not the kit)? I tried to get one through Wolf Armouries, but that didn't end so well...

Wolf Armouries:
You've placed an order with us, but unfortunately, the H&K M4 metal
body Hurricane is currently sold out. Unfortunately, we will not be
restocking this item.

Please let us know how you would like to proceed.

Thank you.

Kay @ Wolf.

I replied:
All I can say is that is pretty poor customer service. I register with your website and place and order on an in-stock item. 10 days pass by before you even recognize I placed an order at all and after almost 2 weeks you tell me that it is not only out-of stock, but you won't be carrying it anymore. When it comes to customer service, this can only be the worst. Good job.

Long story short...don't buy from this website.

If your not from Canada you may wanna hit up WGC.

http://www.wgcshop.com/ Use the search word hurricane. You will find it.

I believe I saw a Hurricane metal body in stock.

Yeah its here...

I would have liked to see it at a lower price. The UK comp was around $160.
And would that be coming from Hong Kong? Any customs issues with that?
Its still a beautiful chunk of metal, but over 200 is asking a little much...

There will be issues if you live in Canada.
If your in the US I believe you should be fine.
Speaking of which, please fill in your profile so we know where you are for future reference.

Great site you all have here! I live in the states and am curious as I've seen several people say they payed $350 ( im assuming CA) for their JG 416s. Every site I've looked at so far has them for apx $180 (US) I know there is a difference in exchange rate but not that much lol. also almost all of them are listed as the JG 614 instead of 416 any difference? I'm thinking about buying one in teh next week or so and wanna make sure I'm buying the same high quality AEG everybody has been talking about. Any help much appreciated. Also be advised this is gonna be my first "decent(i.e. not a flea market special" AEG I do plan to have someone lower the FPS to 325-350 before I start gaming. Any help would be much appreciated( whether it relates to the 416 or not)

You can't compare Cdn prices with airsoft prices around the world. There's much more involved in it than the exchange rate... If you read through some of the FAQs and noob guides, you'll understand.
