My new KJW 10-22

Will use it as a DMR platform (need a scope...)

Colors are more subdued in person and not as shiny...

Hello everybody, new here to ASC, just thought I'd show some "Painted wood" I recently did. It's a really old LS AK-74 kit that I got back in 1991.Crappy, but these old things are good for practicing with different techniques..... I have no idea where the rear sight has gone...

Thanks!!
It took me over a week till I was happy.
To get the "wavy" grain on the hand guard, I used a wash of gloss black mixed with red brown and paused many times while passing the brush along the surface.
That was the last step in many layers of paint/ lacquer clear coat with sanding and more colored washes in between each coat.

Pinard: nice work. Now you need to wear the paint down so it look well used. The rifle will blend more with that, as the overal color is flat and lack separations to break the shape.

Thanks Fox, I did do some wear on the paint that doesn't show up that much on the picture but I'll let the time finish to wear it I think...
