Whats Testing Waters?
what does it mean? i've seen it a bunch of times in the classifieds but i have no idea of what it means lol

Now think of the same concept but with throwing an item up for sale with a price to gauge how well it would fair.

Basically gauging interest. I usually think of them as a "I'm thiiiinking of selling something, here it is.... But maybe not."
Correct me if I'm wrong. |

People who might want to sell their stuff but only if the right offer comes along. Usualy this means the items are overpriced and not worth what the buyer is expecting, usualy but not always ;-)

testing waters should = post deletion it is for sale or it is not. If you cannot make up your mind or decide what you want or do not want don't post until you know.

Lol, were all "Testing Waters" then. If you could sell any gun or anything at a price way more than it's worth, I'd bet you would sell it. So... in that case I'm testing waters on my AUG... Anyone?

It's not common enough to piss and moan about. I have seen it maybe 3 times in the past year. I can see why though, the seller does want to throw the bait out there but does not want to be committed to selling to any buyers.
I can see it being useful for items that are not so common in the sold archive or if the seller deleted the price. I use previous sold items to gauge my prices for items.
