Agm mp44

Hello guys and gals of ASC

I have been playing airsoft for around 6-7 months now and have put 20k rounds through my mp5 and I think it is time to move on to another gun. I had been talking to a friend of mine about the AGM MP44 and he had told me to make a post on these forums and learn from your wisdom. So after some research I have noticed some inconsistent things in some of the reviews I have looked at such as if the body is steel/aluminum or being a really weak cast iron, the wood stock being to weak and flimsy, and the gearbox being a really weak and poor design. If you guys can clear up any of these questions I have asked it would help.

Thanks for your time
Aflons

The externals are solid as a tank, but the internals could use some work.
If you buy one, I'd say test it but if anything is wrong open it up and replace some internals.

I've had mine for over a year now, and love it. All I did was replace the barrel and hopup to increase the range a bit.

Albeit she is hefty and a bit cumbersome one could say.

The gearbox is a V2 M4 style, so there is numerous upgrades out there for it. I've had no problem on my stock.
A bit of normal wobble; which many of them do have, but nothing outrageously horrid.

Check out Google for more reviews, but a few of the WW2 guys run them and also love theirs.

Thank you very much for the help so far. I did read somewhere that a new hop up rubber and a 6.01 tightbore would go a long ways, and the grease they use to lub the gears could melt the piston

Keep in mind, the actual AGM version is getting a wee bit harder to find.
You'll probably end up getting a Javelin or Cybergun re brand.

The Javelin model has supposedly fixed a lot of issues, not 100% certain as I do not own one.
Either way, they are all essentially the same thing.

Has the cybergun fixed any of these issues? In the area in which I live that is going to be the brand I would most likely get my hands on

Cybergun just rebrands the AGM.

The Cybergun MP44 we have are straight up AGM, no rebranding or anything, lol.

been pounding a living crap out of mine for almost 2 years now and the only thing that broke is the little flap on the mag. I did get rid of the wobble of the stock by adding strips of electrical tape.
I wish BTW someone had spare mags in stock, its like searching for Atlantis

Not sure if they rectified this problem but the body pins fall out really easily. Been looking for spares for ever.

I bought an AGM MP44 a month ago or so. I have fired about 8,000 bbs through it without any jams or breakage.
The hop-up out of the box did absolutely nothing even when turned up all the way. I have modified mine slightly and it is better. I have recently modded it a little more but have not retested it.
I found it was shooting accurately: when testing I took a running start, turned, aimed and fired from 150ft, shooting at a 1.5" x 1.5" cardboard box target, and hit target every time (with 1-2 sec. full auto burst). It should be noted the adjustable sights are hard to use with a full paintball mask.
With 0.2g BB's it shoots 430fps consistently. I haven't checked with any other weight yet.
I had to modify a couple of batteries and the wooden stock to get a 9.6V battery for it.
(I don't know if this was a complete waste of time or not, but time will tell)
Note: If you plan on deepening the battery well in the wooden stock: remove trim screws first!
Forever_kaos: what hop-up did you use? Is there a metal, or just even a better unit that will fit? And dos anyone know if a Kar98 sling will work properly on the MP44?

I had one a while back, and stock it was good, but after I did up the internals, I'd say its still the best AEG i've ever had, the externals were built like a tank, I could fall on that thing with all my weight and not have to worry at all,
