Just keep them plastic. They will work for years. Good plastic is better than poor metal. Plastic guns have less tendency to destroy themselves, are more efficient a more cold tolerant. The only TM guns worth putting metal slides on are old style hi-capas with no slide catch reinforcement. After a few years they will chew the slide. Their newer style hi-capa (gold match and d.o.r.) don't have this problem.

Also, the newer TM models, such as their full size USP and Glock 19 kick every bit as strong as metal slided guns. TM is still improving, even though their GBB pistols were already top notch.
