Classification on importing accessories...

Hi,

I am up to date with import laws on an entire rifle, in term of fps. However, I am interested in importing accessories and was wondering at what point are they considered something that resembles a real firearm?

For example, I am assuming if you ordered a full PDI drop in VSR-10 set (everything but the stock), that would not be allowed? Does this change if I order everything but the trigger (if you can see what I'm getting at)?

I would like to try and order everything through Canadian retailers, but sometimes they are out of stock, or just don't carry what I want.

Anyway, any help (links to legislation) on this one would be great.

Thanks!

p.s. I am mostly talking about bolt action spring rifles. And I read through the "Importing Airsoft and You" thread. I saw receiver was included, but I was wondering if that includes spring bolt actions? As part of the entire question.

Airsoft parts are not illegal to import, such as triggers, stocks, magazines, etc. the only things you may have issue with is certain receivers or frames relating directly to assault weaponry or pistols. The main body or housing basically could be deemed a no go, but probably not. Stocks and housings for say shotguns and rifles shouldn't be an issue, but as far as parts go, like scopes, barrels, internals, etc, there's no issue, unless of course it is a real gun internal and by real I mean a mechanism piece, not like a body pin, grip or stock. Trigger grouping from a VSR is fine, trigger grouping from a real M700 isn't (without license).

This.

Sad part is even with the current CAD, 99% of parts are still cheaper to order from over-seas then to buy here in Canada.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯"

Small tip..
- Ask them to reduce invoice by 50-75% (This will reduce your tax/duty) Usually I don't get taxed, unless they ship with UPS. (RWA)

I do exactly that. Ask them to ship as a "GIFT", with no physical invoice. Works 99% of the time.

Hey,

sorry for reviving this thread. I am looking to bring over a M910, which is a flashlight grip. Is that allowed too? Just afraid that they will seize it because it "looks like a gun

Thanks

It's a flashlight, not a gun.

too paranoid, if they think it looks like a gun on the xray, they open it up to inspect, and go oh its a flashlight.
