Here's a concept weapon for my Umbrella SPARC Soldier that I like, though I would swap out the current site for an Eotech to keep it looking lean, thirty round mags, with (proposed) engraved Umbrella Trademarks on the body, & a single point combat sling and attachment point to my right side.

Anyone have a cheap M4 I could chop up?

Looks like a BOYS M4....

Not a fan, IMHO. Just doesn't scream "intimidating", which is what you seem to be going for. Maybe an MP5-K or PDW with silencer would be a little better...?

I guess you're going for a compact weapon, or would this be a secondary weapon?

I dunno, my $0.02

I like it, Patriot cuts are kind of fun. Here are some more:

This last one here is a new ICS release.

You can also go the AK route, nice because you can put a stick battery in the body instead of a battery bag or what not.

If not, there are always the classics:

The over all look is meant to be intimidating, and the weapons are merely a part of that look - but they must be functional to the tasking at hand, in the realm of my concept Umbrella SPARC Soldier.

Hear me out on this...

Originally, I was gearing towards a raced up, RIS/RAS type carbine, but when I sat back & thought about it for a time, several "real world" ideas came to me. Borrowing from a plethora of Zombie movies, books & video games, the potential for weapon "snags" (getting caught, grabbed, wrenched away, etc.) & "engagement ranges" occurred to me. A weapon with "toys" bolted to it has the potential of getting snagged in a close in struggle, or confined spaces, where as a stubby, smooth weapon, has a lesser chance of this occurring. The same with side arms, for example my two soon to be Umbrella Dressed WE HiCapa full metal Version 1's. Smooth, no toys, practical, functional, close to body weapons. Also, doing away with a three point, or other, type of weapons sling, allows me to bundgy, or single point sling such a stubby weapon to the front of the RECON vest, or to a fixed point at my side, airborne style for double quick target engagements on the move.

I'll leave the flashy/tricked out weapons to the S.T.A.R.S. types.

I'm gearing for the practical - tactical.

I appreciate the comments though. The more people question, the more I tweak the concept.

I agree, it does seem the best choice for the kit. Of course, a P90 was designed for what you are looking for (non clothes catch, small CQB, etc.) but I guess the other probs it has outways the advantages.

I say stay with the Patriots, they are a real steel gun, you already have tons of mags for it, and it is small. Much smaller than the G36c or just about anything else out there. Mind you, I did one on a M16A2 and a cut P90 barrel, yeah, make sure you have a ported cylinder...

I hear ya, but allow me to play Devil's Advocate for a minute.

From a weapon's perspective, you're looking for high mobility, compactness, and free of extensions that can cause snags, etc.

By that logic then, wouldn't a tacvest/webbing/thigh rig/etc defeat that purpose, since there are so many things to 'latch on to'? Would it not be easier to just wear a straight flight suit then, to minimize the ability to grab onto you, be it your weapon or body?

I agree with you though that having a flashlight/laser/LAM/vertical grip/scope/other junk on a carbine or SMG is overkill. As said above, a P90 or some kind of bullpup SMG or rifle may be a good alternative, since you have a longer barrel integrated in an overall shorter length of weapon, making a strong punch for a small package.

Thoughts?

LMAO! (...and my potential new Sig!)

Gamz, you bring about some excellent feed back. Many thanks.

True, the Recon vest I'm considering has potential for such real world possibilities, but concept wise my Umbrella SPARC Soldier is geared toward the long haul worst case scenario & subsequently must be loaded out as such, ammo, additional gears, side arms, blades, batons, with additional leg & arm armor, etc.

Survivability, there's the word I'm looking for!

This is getting lively, keep the comments coming, folks!

...blades, mind you, rubber training type, are all in the consideration of the load out, including tactical hatchets.

More on this later...
