I was referring to overall length of the gun. I was torn between a limcat 7 inch whichever give me more FPS and more recoil and SV IMM hybricomp for less recoil.

Realy .... I'm not a good photomaker..................the right red is fluo.. in this pic is better.

to build this gun I've use a lot of leftovers, starting from a we dragon....a very bad pistol.............hahahaha

Only frame whit LDC and front end are from we, all the internals are in iron by AIP,
The slider was a 5" Springfield from prohandgun, lightweight BB housing from AIP
Blowback from Kjw (the red one) , Inner from Dpi 6,01 and outer from Aip to.

Some pics of the work

For saffety I modify and use a replacement for a real 1911 , need some reworks whit millingmachine but works great

The first tests was good, +90mt\sec. whit 0,25g BB...........
and a wery tight grupping from 10 mt. whit greengas (8,5bar)

This is one of mine best works ........... I think............hahahahaha

Start off with a Hi-Capa.
Don't cheap out and buy quality parts.
Contact Illusion if you need parts.
There are some built guns already in classifieds that saves you headaches from building one.

Thanks for the heads up!

as for the rail mount is there a standard mounting location that you have to drill the body for is it different for every mount?

Different for every mount, different for every gun, different for every shooter.

But in general, most of them are drilled in on the side of the dustcover just forward of the slide catch.

Yargh... I've been eyeing that Tiki kit for a while. I couldn't justify the price for it. Once landed in Canada, the price would have been too ridiculous. That looks super hot.

All you need, are SVI base plates...

I think I've said it on Arnies before, its a nice kit, but having to use regular Hi-Capa length mag is a bummer...

Actually, they do make a somewhat shorter one that ships with the complete gun. As far as I know they don't sell it separately and the complete gun is out of the price range of pretty much everybody. ;)
