Funny enough story... I assembled this gun, fired off 10 shots to check velocity, snapped these couple of pictures, cursed at my camera, disassembled it to install a new beavertail safety, went to dinner and then took the gun out to the TTAC3 Practical Shooting course. It's first range test was being timed with point scores... lol.

I was still adjusting the trigger and sighting in the Doctersight as I got on range. lol. Sad thing was the thing kept misfiring for some reason and shortly afterwards, the inner barrel locked up against the outer barrel. I didn't find out till a day later that there was something funky with my hybrid outer barrel. I corrected it with another one I had in stock. Other than that, it shoots super straight (for the range we were shooting at, ie <10 yards)


And no, thank God, it's not the D3 that's dead. I actually didn't have access to it at the time - I was shooting with my old D70. It's way overdue for a servicing anyways.

Three years later, I finally got around to taking photos of this build. Sad to say, I haven't really used it in all this time, but I still really like it for a number of reasons. I'll probably end up keeping it for a while. A few parts have changed since, to tighten up performance a bit, but the bulk of the pistol is still the same:
