What I want to see is the R-hop concept applied to guns for production, and somebody to start fucking correcting the AOE in guns from factory. Why the fuck is it so difficult to simply add a piece of sorbothane in stock cylinder heads, why ! ?

Maybe I'm being shortsighted but you'd probably need to reinvent physics

A few tried but they all failed :P

Heck, people buy them at that price and we all have the same problems.
What if they were a more realistic $90-$120 a piece?

How so, exactly? Ignoring the difficulty of manufacturing hollow BBs with perfectly uniform interiors, these are some issues I could think of off the top of my head:
1. With a uniform spherical shell, the moment of inertia (essentially, the resistance to changes in angular velocity for a given torque) is higher for a given mass, and since the Magnus force (ie what makes hop ups work) is proportional to angular velocity, your hop up would have to push harder to apply the same spin
2. Since we're still talking about ~6mm plastic spheres, the exterior is still the same so clearly there can't be much difference in the aerodynamic porperties

So basically you'd have a lighter BB that requires as much hop-force as a heavier one. I'd still love to see someone test that idea, there is probably something I've missed.
If I were to guess at ways of improving a BB, I'd say the opposite setup, a high density core with plastic exterior, as it would have nearly the same moment of inertia for a higher mass.

I think he meant he'd like the same weight of bb, but the distribution around the outside (hence a denser material required).

Technically the forward momentum / etc would be the same, and yes, you would need a little more push to get it spinning at the same angular velocity, but since it would have more angular momentum, the spin could last through the air friction for longer, so you *could in theory* try for longer reach.

I didn't pore over the physics in the bbb4$tard report (which is kind of a cool piece of work) so I don't know if you'd get a longer flat range, or just a different flight path, but my engineering guess is that it does sound likely.

It's surprising how well manufacturing ideas have pushed through improvements in other areas, so who knows, it's not impossible that they could make such a thing.

As soon as they get it so that outer shell breaks on impact though, we'll be back to putting lightweight colored powder or paint inside though... just sayin

In that case I would quit airsoft and go real steel.

I'm fairly sure there was a guy who modded his mags to use HPA, cost a shit ton of money, but it worked. Can't remember where i saw the mod, but i specifically remember wanting to do it, till i saw the price

I would like some sort of soft foam 40mm grenade, that is actually launched from a 203. Upon impact it would disperse a load of around 100 bbs. Like some of the grenades we have now that use gas to propel their load, exept safe to be hit with at high speed

Make a decent lipo that fits in the buffer tube.

An efficient gearbox that has no gears, actuated only by magnets (forget the term for this tech).

Would you still call that a "gearbox" :P Seems like a neat idea tho!

HPA mags

Bio-tracer-bbs

An HPA cylinder that would fit into a buffer tube, not the big ass one they use in paintball.

You can buy small HPA tanks. The issue is the volume is so low your shot count will be low.
