Assembling my rucksack

I was issued a rucksack for my BMQ course a couple days ago. As of now it is just a pile of loose straps, the frame and bag. I think it is a type 64 ruck. If anyone has instructions or just pictures of an assembled rucksack, please help me out.

I'd just wait till they show everyone how to do it. I remember when I did my BMQ the instructors would get pissed off if you tried doing anything before being told. Even if it was right they'd call you a smart ass and not do it again.

You did not get issued a '64 ruck. Only time you'd be issued a '64 is when you go on the Jump course an when you get to a Airborne unit(they're starting to issue out US ALICE packs now though). You were issued the POS '82 ruck. Just wait till the course staff instructs you guys on how to assemble it.

Actually our course didn't get instructed, mostly because we had some of us who'd figured it out ahead of time and we just helped everyone else out during personal kit time, they were cool with it, but ask your instructors if they plan on showing you guys how to assemble it, because if they are, and you do it ahead of time, there could be issues. It's really not that hard though... They just kinda go together exactly how they look like they should... *shrugs* Maybe I played with too much lego as a kid...

I just want to be able to put it together to the point where I can wear it on my back as opposed to carrying it in by hand with the two duffle bags.

Do you have the 82 webbing/ruck instruction book?

Assembling the ruck is easy, I'm assuming your doing a weekend BMQ? When you show up to your unit for a parade/training night ask someone there to help you out.

They should show you, so don't worry about it yet. Make sure to pay attention and that you assemble it correctly,or your back is going to enter a whole new world of pain for the new few months.

I wasn't given any instructions at all on how to assemble it and yes, I am taking the weekend course.
I understand that getting it perfect without being shown how is impossible but I'm really interested in getting the shoulder straps on the frame so I can wear it in and it will be one less thing to carry.
I have been looking through various military surplus websites for pics but none prove to be of any help.

I honestly don't get where you're getting this from.
must only be at the airborne school, even then that sounds fishy to me.
we've still got plenty of 64 frames in the para coy here in 3RCR. I'll have to ask about this tomorrow, I just keep thinking shenanigans.

Heard it from a person in Supply(on army.ca), an theres apparently 1-2 troops in the 3VP Jump Coy with ALICE packs now.

I'll have to ask the PI's we've got at work tomorrow.
they've been testing all our new crap out, and they've never said anything like that to us.
