Good Beginner AK Setup?

Hey guys, I'm just getting into airsoft and was looking for a good beginner AK setup (chest rig/plate carrier, BDU, etc.) and find it hard to find any AK MOLLE pouches. What is a good cheap AK setup ~100 or ~150 (w/o eye pro) that would be decent enough to game with on a field? Thanks!

I was looking at this as I picked up an AK a little while ago. I haven't had experience with either of these products but I would probably buy one of them depending on my funds available.

If I went cheap I would get the NcStar AK chest rig, looks like an old-school Russian chest rig with 3x double stack AK mag pouches for a total of 6 mags plus some utility pouches. You can get it off eBay for $50 shipped.

If I went with more money the StrikeHard AK chest rig looks solid and a lot of real-steel AK owners love it. 4 AK pouches with a couple of utility pouches plus PALS to add more pouches if need be, at $75 USD for the base model plus shipping it ain't cheap but it looks solid.

Those are the 2 that I found that I would consider, for BDUs people are always selling them off here... hell I have an OD TRU-spec shirt for sale lol.

Condor MOPC + a couple of replica Taco mag pouches (TMC/Flyye) which will let you run AK mags and have the versatility to run M4 mags and all kinds of others down the road if you wish.

I bought an M4 chest rig when I started airsoft, and now I want an AK and I'm wishing I'd done the above myself.

Both of those look pretty good for the price, I'll look into those more.

As for the MOPC I've heard the thing is pretty big, and I'm a small guy, so I don't think it will fit me very well.

The TMC one looks good as well, thanks for the links.

Any other info would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Also wondering about different BDUs, do manufacturers really matter in this case? I'm looking at CADPAT but I'm wondering if there are any good Russian camos available for a decent price.

Or just a surplus one.

Depending on where you are Creative Outdoors in Markham has a lot of BDUs. No online store, just Edward and his wife in this tiny place with tons of stuff. You can email him specifically with what you are looking for at creative.outdoor@gmail.com.

I remember seeing some Russian camo when I was last in, the funky blue/black tiger stripe pattern. I'm sure he has what you want provided it's not too exotic.

As for brands I'd stick to stuff like Tru-Spec and Propper. I have some Rothco stuff but they seem really cheap.

You can literally get surplus Chicom rigs for $6 a pop on eBay and such. You can make a very authentic loadout for cheap starting with a chicom

Yeah, chicom is the shit. Very inexpensive, small and light weight, hold 4 or 5 mags, and sits tight to the chest. I have one for when I need the extra mags.

I'm not looking for a roleplay setup per se, but more of something that can be modular for later on but is relatively cheap. I probably might get a Chicom though just because of how cheap they can be. Keep it coming guys, I need all the info I can get.

I purchased a good chest rig made for AK (beezcombatsystem) but after when I needed an other plate for the M249, I was a bit teeth grinding regarding my not-versatile choice. So get a modular plate carrier like R.I.T.Z. showed.

Yeah, leaning more towards that, I'm just checking the classifieds and stuff to see if I can find any for cheaper.
