Mic/Earpiece advise

Hey guys, I tried a search on my own and found way to much to figure out.

I want to ditch my headset for the cop/Motorolla style shoulder Mic with the Motorola Style ear Piece in a Kenwood connector for my Puxing.

Ideally, I'm not looking to spend a ton, but I'd like something at least decently reliable.

Anyone have any suggestions or experience in this area?

Jeeze, that's really nice...
I've been partying with a generic throat mic. Reason being the throat mic won't pick up ambient noise, only the vibes from your speech. It was super cheap, and obviously isn't high quality, but the sound quality, both Rx and Tx, is really pretty good. Thumb actuator goes down you sleeve to free both hands.

When I upgrade to HQ equipment, I'll either find a variation of this current setup or I'll go for the one RedDot mentioned.

for some reason those cheap $25 throat mics work pretty darn well

My experience with throat mic have left me not even wanting people using them on my team.....

I'll stick to the shoulder mics or headsets

I've never had throat mic problems, only motorola GP68 problems.

There's a fella on my team that runs a throat mic, and I'm straight up contemplating buying him something to replace it. He apparently here's well, but it's impossible to understand anything he's staying on our end.

what kind of throat mic?
I had an iasus NT2 and NT3 and you could hear me whisper very clearly. But on the older model NT3s the wire between the transponders would get loose and fray then it would be impossible to understand me.
It's also just not good for people with fat or really muscular necks apparently

I'm with Wilkie. I've never come across someone using a throat mic who could be understood....

I've never had any real issues with my GP 69, but my Radio collection consists of the following

1x Puxing 888
1x Motorola GP68 (Well, I have two but second only functions a a reciever)
1x Motorola SABER
1x Motorola SABER R
1x Motorola RADIUS 1225


On that note, has anyone here ever tried to gut anything like a Saber or Radius to try and install something like a Puxing? Results?
