A reasonable starter sniper rifle?

I am in the process of looking for a "best bang for buck" sniper rifle
I like old school looking rifles with modernized internals.
Locally there isn't much to select. What would you guys recommend? Brand? Model? Reason?

I am looking at WELLS or Echo1 or Classic Army M24

Thanks

TM VSR-10
Classic Army M24
Echo 1 M28
Well VSR-10

most aftermarket parts available, reliable, and less chances of having to mod aftermarket parts to fit. Also Prices are pretty decent.

Keeping in mind youll wanna put about 400-700 bucks worth the parts into any bolt action to have a stable reliable platform.
Parts include but are not limited to.
Inner barrel
Hop up
Spring
Spring guide
Sears
Piston

Other stuff to consider
Barrel spacers
Cylender
Cylender head
Scope (a good real steel scope)
"zero" trigger or simaler (this will often come with a piston and you wont have to replace the sears as it will have good (read strong) sears. So instead of 40-60 on sears and 100 on a piston youll be lookin at 250 or so for ghe trigger set and piston)
Sorbo pad

Toronto's sources are showing out of stock for the WELLS VSR-10 package that included Bipod and basic Scope

Classic Army's M24 CIV model is out of stock as well.

Grr!

They do have the Echo1 M28 in stock with the bipod

What would be a good part to upgrade to ensure stability/reliability and longevity?

Agree with the statement. Hence I want a good platform to start.

Which model would be a good place to build from?

I am pretty sure TM is out of my reach at the moment.

My personal experience is that you have only two good choices for a sniper rifle, TM and Classic Army. Anything else will have the same range and precision as your average M4 or worse or will always be broken.

If you want to try sniping, you can buy a Wells or Echo1 and you might get lucky and have a good one with decent range and precision. Don't upgrade it, leave it stock and save your money for next summer

I got a warning for direct linking...

But using your super amazing intuition: Look towards Toronto.

Realistically how many times have you only used a sniper rifle and a side arm for an outdoor game? Just curious.
What were your thoughts? "Why did I bring this piece of log?"

" boom headshot? "

SVD should not be a bolt action sniper rifle.
it gets annoying.

As for why did I bring it?
I don't anymore I've tried sniping on numerous occasions and I personally do not have the patience. Not to mention I have not passed the course.

If you want a spring SVD get the A&K, all upgrade parts are made for it and the mags are cheaper. The King Arms version has slightly different mags and specs... and shiny paint.

As for accuracy, it's no VSR, but once upgraded its still a decent rifle. Get the upgrades parts from http://airsoftpro.cz, they are the best. All other brands actually cloned them.
