So from what I gather, the M4 mags generally perform better than the PDW mags
But should I be getting CO2 or propane mags?
How many rounds do you get out of a 12g cylinder of CO2?
And obviously CO2 is going to work better at lower temperatures, but is it going to make the gun explode when its 30 degrees out? lol

Go with the propane WE mags = less trouble & far more reliable...from my own personal experience!

On your PDW CO2 mag lasted for about 2.2 mags... CO2 is good for things -- High FPS and High ROF... Other than that.. It's GG for me

CO2 would get expensive too, those powerlets aren't dirt cheap. 75 cents a cylinder

Anyway lubed the PDW, recoils MUCH harder now, sustains full auto much more easily. All around way more awesome

I believe that it is in common agreement amongst WE owners that "most" problems can linked to lubing issues....usually not enough! That being said. Adding more or less lube in the propane mags is easily achieved. But, the CO2 mags are not that user friendly. For that problem I remove the mag from the shell and undo the upper expansion chamber cap and add my lube. Reassemble the mag, insert powerlet and then I'm off to the races.

CO2 mags up the fun factor and as Amos has stated do have a time and place. But from an ease of use view, propane gets my vote.

Yea... Over-lubing can cause problems... The key to these things is REGULAR MAINTENANCE!!

I need a little help from one of you guys quick if you can.

I'm ordering some parts of eHobby Asia and I need to know where on there page those conversions to convert the older style M4 gas mags to the new open bolt style are. I tried searching every which way I can think to and I don't know if its that they do not have them or if they are out.

I was given some old AWSS style M4 mags but they dont work with my Open bolt PDW.

They were on there, I cant find them now either....

So I got my open bolt PDW. Don't upgrade anything until it breaks. It's incredibly simple and looks REALLY reliable from the bolt carrier end of things. All you have to do is lube it properly and it's good to go!

Quick question, are the open-bolt mag conversions compatible with the closed-bolt CO2 mags? Or is there an open-bolt specific CO2 mag?

Alright, sorry to hijack the thread a little bit but I need to make sure I'm ordering the right parts for my WE PDW.
Now the one I bought is a closed-bolt BUT I've already bought the open-bolt conversion kit. Now I've got to install a NPAS system but there's seems to be one for the closed-bolt and one for the open-bolt. Now I'm assuming this one if for the closed-bolt: http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/ra-tech-n...bb-series.html
and this one for the open-bolt: http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/ra-tech-n...m-pdw-m14.html
but it seems to me that this can't be all you need for the open-bolt system right? I mean compared to the closed-bolt NPAS it seems... minimalistic. Also on the eHobby page for the open-bolt NPAS, it mentions "Recommend to use with Guide Rod". So where's that guide rod at?

Any help/clarification would be greatly appreciated...

Well this is a great thread!! Love the PDWs! I'll load some pics if anybody replies... but I also have a quick question and then a few statements. Does anybody have CO2 mag problems? I can never seem to push 6+ bbs through very fast. Is this just due to cooldown?
Also I have had my pdw for a few years now and I always have to replace the stock pins (like the stock hinge) and I usually manage to catch little trigger assembly screws slipping out.
Sorry I'm a bit late to the post. Thanks for some help!

Unfortunatly, WE CO2 mags are crap. The hard plastic o-rings fail really fast and they start leaking after a few uses.

Loctite every screw you can. A gas rifle will loosen itself to pieces pretty quickly.
