SWAT Uniform Questions
Hey guys. I'm planning on making a price friendly SWAT uniform.
I believe what I'll need for a "complete" swat loadout is: MP5 Black Vest S.W.A.T. Velcro Logo Blue or Black or Olive outfit/Coat & pants Boots (Already Have) Leg Holster (Already have) Face Mask (Already have) Glock 18 (Already have) Leg Holster (Already have) Knee Pads (Already have) Elbow Pads (Already have) Goggles (Already Have) Since, I have most things already for my other uniform (Military), this shouldnt be pricey. Someone before, has recommended for the Outfit/Coat and Pants, I could easily use some Automotive Cover-Alls. 1) Would that be a good idea to use cover-alls? (I've heard they are pretty expensive though. I may have a pair laying around.) 2) Any other suggestions on what I could use for the coat and pants? Are they're cheap brands of swat replica clothing, or is there regular clothing that looks somewhat the same? (Blue cargo pants? Bahahhaa ) 3) Also, what colour do you guys suggest I have for the outfit? Ive seen some outfits that are like Blue coat and pants with Black Vest, Olive coat and pants with Black Vest, and Blue coat and pants with black vest. 4) Is there any type or brand of black vest that is cheap, and looks nice in a swat loadout? Thanks guys.

I'd suggest just OD BDU's or Navy Blue BDU's. There's replica Nomex Flight suits which is what I think a lot of LE use. They range from $30 to $200USD for the real deal Nomex ones. There's a few SWAT style black vests in the classifieds right now, EBaybanned and such have a few.

Yes, they do. Every department is different, some wear black, some wear green, some wear multicam. Depends on the budget, and who's in charge of the budget.

the thing is that you probably don't wanna buy a complete new kit for every environement, and black stands out in the woods.

Okay. Thanks for the awnsers guys. I didn't think black would do so well in the woods. :P
I'm thinking about OD, or blue with a black vest. (Black vests seem to be the "norm")

OD would probably be better for a vest if you plan on playing outside as well as CQB.

A "swat"
loadout is designed for short sharp engagements in a built up / Urban environment.
You expect to see heavy armour.. and a lot of subloading on the legs It is exactly the wrong loadout for field operations. Build a "city" kit for Urban / CQB and Build a "field" kit for woodland / field games

We had a guy who wore a black vest out here, it was the first thing you saw every game. A big black blob bobbing through the woods.
If you're on some sort of direct action door kicking deal when you pile out with your team also all in black and storm the objective then go for it. If you want to see what works where you live hit up a few games and see who keeps shooting you because you didn't see them.

Good idea guys. This loadout wouldnt be for field play. My friend owns private property which is fenced in and has some bunkers and old buildings, perfect for some type of swat simulation play. It is in the woods, but the main area around the building is like in semi urban/semi grass area. I've worn a black vest there before, and it seemed to work out pretty fine. I'll definitly give it another go as I can just borrow my freinds gear and see if I get shot up.
For what Brian said, this would be my second loadout. I have a marpat/flecktarn uniform which I use for woodland and field games. This "SWAT" uniform, would be used primarily for the bunker raiding games that we play. (Like I said, the bunker is located in a semi urban semi field area. Lots of pavement but some grass.) Thanks for the tips so far guys. Keep em comin'!

This is my OD loadout that meet with the SWAT requirement. OD in the US is generally used by the Sherif departement and Black by the other departements. In Canada, we don't care, we use whatever we need/get issued. My kit is Gallet helmet (Same as MICH, different suspention and straps) Peltor sound trap ear protectors OD breathable balaclava OD BDU Custom MOLLE vest, Level III + SAPI plates P90tr + 5 mags M9 + 3 mags (in drop leg) Optionnal subload on the other leg with 2 or 3 P90 mags Combat knife (rubber trainning one, and or real one) Various other pouches for stuff and comm. HAIX CQB combat boot. (German super awsome confortable boots)
