mines/ traps?

Not sure if this has been discussed previously, but what would you guys think of including landmines or other traps in your games?

Some sort of device with a pressure switch, stand on it and it fires a spray of BBs upwards at you? Hopefully this can be done without anyone winning a Darwin Award.

Hmmm google is your friend. Grenades, claymore mines and other products already exists. Now it depends of the organizer if they let you use them.

I prefer if it was powder. That way the boyz don't take a pounding!

If you're afraid of pain, find another sport. If you host doesn't allow stuff like this....find another field.

I'll build some contraption that sprays steel bearings upwards into the groin region at 500 fps.

I heard that some guys had modified 203 shells with trip wire. And that looks quite simple to do.

Everything that the military uses is pretty much made so that it can be simulated in airsoft.

Landmines, claymores, grenades, RPG, mortars and even Artillery.

The simplest way to set up a trip wire, is strap a smoke grenade to a tree and use a wire between a heavily traveled path. Great when you are sniping and people get in behind you.

It kills anyone in the blast radius ( as per your club ) and gives you a screen to reposition, or find cover.

They are also great for when you are protecting a package.. Dig a hole and put the smoke bomb n the hole. Tie a piece of short piece of wire to the bottom of the package and place it over the smoke bomb.

Make sure you dispose of the excess soil, and make sure the smoke grenade is very snug in the hole.

Just some ideas for the new guys to try.

Other than that, asa mentioned above, GOOGLE, and see what is out there, and also see what people have already home built. That you can try.

We have a firework at the shop called Silver Wave which fires seven huge illuminating comets. It would be fantastic for night games as perimeter defense; set it up on a trip line with an e-match and when someone trips it, they're instantly illuminated for like 20 seconds so you can blast them. I'm greatly concerned though about someone stepping over such a device as it starts to fire, which would be VERY bad.

I have tons of those pull-ring hand flares left that can be threaded onto a 5/8" rod, they're itching to be used in the same manner. Sixty seconds of pure light and much safer than an aerial device.

I know I have a claymore for bb's and a mine that has powder that are in transit for my sniper team. I can post on the effectiveness once I get to put them through a test

a friend used to have a mine that took a CO2 cartridge and would fire water or powder straight up but I can't find them for sale anymore.

I have two of the mines.. and they work great,

The top twists off and you fill it with Babypowder, and put a co2 cartridge in the center. You then twist the top on tight and tighten a screw type piece that is sharpened at the end. you tighten this to the point of almost piercing the co2 cartridge.

Once stepped on the co2 bursts and the insides of the mine come out of a tube in the top. making for what looks like a smoke show ( just a nice smelling one )
