Exclamation Moving to Canada from Oregon

I don't know if this would be qualified as a dumb ass question or not but...

My husband and children are all REALLY into airsoft here in the states, even started a team with family and friends. Recently we have been discussing moving north but he has a strict guideline...can he bring his replica airsoft guns? I've looked and looked and alot of the airsoft information is unclear as far as what I've found and also the information is over a year or more old. Can someone help me??? Also has anyone tried to get airsoft laws changed in Canada? :banghead: Also are laws based on each province or is it as a generalized law for the whole country? Help me please!

Not legal to bring them into the country. Sorry. Canada-USA border is a tight one, and the laws clearly state that replica firearms cannot be imported into Canada from USA.

Sorry, but no, you can't bring airsoft guns (unless they are clear) across the border.

When our firearms laws were changed last time, to make them much more restrictive, I think about 20 people protested in Alberta and about 300 in Ottawa. So, no, the Canadian firearms owners would like our laws changed, but few would do anything to speak up about about it at all.

Gun laws are Federal, and Toronto alone has as many seats in Parliament as all of Western Canada. If they want a create/change a law that hinders us 3000 miles away, too bad for us.

He can buy new ones once he's here, he just can't bring his existing ones over the border.

Welcome here,
Their are some items that are restricted, such as full guns, most lower receivers, silencers, grenade lauchers, etc.
This link should answer alot of your questions: http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=40318
Once you guys do arrive out here you should schedule to meet with a rep to get verified, from there you'll have complete access to the B&S, but be fair warned, airsoft guns in Canada are expensive.
Hope this helps.

Another alternative is to strip the guns down, sell the recievers in the US, then move to Canada and purchase new recievers. That could be difficult as well though considering recievers are illegal to import and suppliers are few and far between.

If you think laws regarding airsoft are bad, try real firearms. Seriously...stay in Oregon.

You're not moving to Canada because of Airsoft laws?

Wow...

That just... wouldn't matter to most people when real life happens.

Angela, your alternative is:

1)Sell the pistols in the US, Buy new ones while in Canada.
2) Take apart the rifles, and sell the "body" or "receiver" if you want to call it that. Once the body or receiver is not present... the rest is just a bunch of plastic parts that are legal.

*He can buy new ones once inside Canada and "Age Verified" and rebuild his guns*

3) Gear and accesoriess are legal to bring in... however any 40mm grenades he has and any magazines with fake bullets inside are kinda "iffy" and will have a hard time getting over. The magazines named are usually the sig552 & g36 "low capacity" magazines.

4) Minimum age to play is 16 (with parents signature on game day)
But typically it is 18 at most fields.

food and shelter. you have to work to accumulate for what you want and need.
thats about it; unless 'I will know when I am an adult'
there is pressure that people collapse under
people have anxiety and worries
but really; real life is whatever (I understand) you want it to be.
just fulfill your necessities and then the previous line applies.

Damn... I was gonna say it.

It does seem kinda ridiculous not to move just because of Airsoft related laws...

Also, ALLGAR, that'll account for about 5% of 'real life'
