just dont shoot people with them.

also, ive heard people say it wears the inner barrel and hop-up faster, but again, that is just anecdotal evidence.

Nothing will happen it will fire just like any other airsoft bb, just don't shoot people with it....They don't like that.

However, What 'will' happen is once the metal bb hits a flat surface. you will break a tear into the space/time continuum and unleash all hell on the material world.

Other than that, Your gun will just shoot metal BB's. Thats about it. Personally i've heard many people saying 'no' to them as they apparently damage the inside of the barrel and shred hopups. Just stick to regular BB's.

Just realize that if you're running a stock gun, they're going to fly short and slow.

depending on the weight of the metal bb (steel (8.05 g/cm3) is roughly 8 times as dense as ABS plastic(1.024 g/cm3))- you will probably get a velocity that is about 8 times slower. Assuming your gbb fires at 300 fps with 0.2 g abs BB - that will corresponds to 38 FPS with the steel BB. The bb will be sufficiently slow to dodge and will have very poor range. It will most probably damage the hop-up.

Ive seen metal bb's fly from an old JAC at a good clip, but frankly I doubt a GBB will be able to do much with them other then maybe 10 feet with poor accuracy.

^^ This.

I'm still convinced that's what UAC did on Phobos.

That depends on the GBB I'm using .30 right now in my WA and they go far and accurate.

I've never seen those aluminium BBs used. I guess they are a novelty.
At .30g, it's in the range of sniper weight. But I guess they would have the same effect as glass BBs, wich break windows and nick plastic.

True, the "metal" 6mm .35 and .30 will work.

The lightest metals with sufficient density to be able to retain their shape would be magnesium and aluminum.

A magnesium 6mm bb would have a volume of 113mm3 and an approximate weight of .17g

Thus we can see that heavier metals could be used to yield true metal bb's of sufficiently low weight to be able to fly properly.

However I was alittle wary of telling the unage verified guy this.

Magnesium's too light to be used in an airsoft gun, besides wouldn't it start to oxidize as soon as it comes into contact with oxygen making it unsuitable to be used in an airsoft gun... aluminums perfect though not too light not too heavy.
