My friend who works at MEC suggested ROCKY STRETCH, which seems to be what Gore-Tex themselves sell on their site. They have gotten pretty good reviews from what I have seen online, but I have no first hand experience with their stuff.

I have a pair of these. They are great provided you can get the right size, I had problems finding mine in-store and it had be brought in from another store. They work great and I didn't notice any excessive sweating while in my boots

The goretex socks at MEC are the bomb, they keep your feet dry and roasty toasty when it gets Canadian outside. I love mine so far, just be careful not to get any water/slush/snow IN them!

I wear jungle boots with goretex socks
water gets in and out of the boot, but feet stay 'dry' depending how much you sweat

comparably, goretex boots are designed specifically for air force personnel in which the deepest body of water you encounter is a puddle on a tarmac.
Water gets in and stay in, then you're carrying 5lbs of water around on each foot lol

I have no idea what my issued sets are, but they're fantastic.

I haven't seen them in a year or two, but I can try locate them in the next few days and let you know what they are.

Spend the money on a good pair of boots and you wont regret it. When it comes to boots you get what you pay for plain and simple. If people want to buy Magnum mall cop boots yes the seams are sh!t and will eventually leak. Buy Danners and you'll never have a need for goretex socks, unless you'd be going over the top any how! Ive had my Danners for 3 years now and they keep up with everything an infantry soldier needs em for so they are definitely good to go for airsoft!! just a thought ...

Ive been coating my socks with tent water proofing... Matter of fact I spray that stuff on pant legs and my boots.

It started out as a cheap idea to hold me over until I bought something better, but when it worked so well I just kept doing it.

I'm on my second pair of altama exospeeds and I haven't seen another boot I've liked yet.

Definitely not much out there for goretex socks though... sealskinz changed their lineup too. I've had 3 pairs of their old style, last pair was good but the inner liner is coming off.

My personal experience with Goretex lined boots is that once the membrane gets dirty (most likely with salt deposits from perspiration) it wicks moisture thus becoming leaktex. I find that the built in lining is impossible to adequately wash once it becomes dirty.

Goretex socks can be easily washed thus maintaining their water-proof qualities. The rule of thumb for Goretex care is 'wash a lot and dry it hot'.

If I'm worried about keeping my feet dry in wet conditions, short of a pair of wellies I have found that a pair of full leather boots which have been seam sealed and water-proofed (with some suitable non-silicon treatment) work quite well.

Just sayin'

1) those don't look like anyone would ever accuse them of being fast
2) they can still fill up with water

Most times I come across a swamp I'm going balls deep, so condition #1 is no waterproof boots. Jungle boots only.

Sounds like you're the poster child for those Arcteryx ones then.

Cough up; airsoft is not a welfare sport.
