KWA MP7 mag base plate reinforcement

I'm looking for ideas on how to reinforce the base plate. I've learned that the mags don't like to be dropped.

Few ideas I've come up with are layers of hockey tape and truck bed liner.
Downside to tape would be taking it off when needing to service the mag. Also not sure how much it would improve impact resistance.

Don't drop the mags? LOL.

Any GBB pistol you shouldn't really be dropping the mags as you risk damage.

Sometimes easier said than done. The mags are an excellent design, the base plate is their only weakness.

Maybe mp5 magpul..? Seems like it would help and also make it easier to pull a mag out. Maybe it's too big...hmm..I guess hockey tape will work just as well and much cheaper

no gas mags should be dropped, GBB or GBBR. it's a surefire way to damage the feedlips and the base plate. you have to remember that a REAL STEEL mag weighs less than an AEG mag when empty, and in combat situations, the mags are dropped and left as garbage. we don't have that luxury in airsoft.
i have seen a fully loaded real steel mag (M4 metal mag) drop onto a dirt floor and had the tack-welds brake, and cartridges and the follower with the spring went in every direction.

I've actually accidentally hit the mag release a few times at UA, lol
Someone else was dropping their pistol mag too when I was there and just happen to see his base plate fly pass me. I do indeed have a dump pouch
