TM M4 Stock removal.

So last night I decided to pull the stock off of my TM M4 and replace it with my hurricane crane just to see how it looks before I find a place to send it off to get rewired to the rear. Well I was following directions from a few websites.

Was one of the sites I was using as a guide. After Step one of removing the actual stock, I found that there were no hex locking screws. In fact nothing at all. Just a plain metal shaft. No screw holes, hex holes, bolts or anything really. At first I thought, well ok maybe I'll just loosen this ring at the back of the reciever and it should come off. Nope doesnt loosen at all, atleast I dont think it would with out damaging it. There is however a very very pin sized hole at the very back of the stock tube. Although Im not convinced that it does anything.

I suppose I can just leave it as is and send my stock in as well when I send it in for rewiring. I would post some pictures but Im at my office today and not off work for a few more hours at this time, and as you can see Im hard at work browsing forums and slacking off. Anyways if anyone has anything to offer, by all means please go ahead.

That ring doesn't loosen. It's just there for show. You gotta look for a tiny screw hole near the rear, and unscrew it. The end cap will fall off, and you'll be able to see the big-ass screw that attaches to your receiver/mechbox.

If there is a hole at the back but no screw you can probably pop the end cap off as it might be pressure fitted

Once again I apologise for not being able to supply pics since I am at my office. The back of the tube itself looks flush and appears to be one piece all the way around but it maybe painted very well and simply appear soo. The small tiny pin hole at the base maybe big enough for a paper clip to fit through if bent, but I cant think of anything that small and strong enough I could use to hook and attempt to pull the end off with.

I'll post some pics when I get outa here later on today. Thanks for the input so far folks. Its Much appreciated.

Wouldnt want it to get big and loose now would we

I scratched the itch of curiosity and decided to pick around at spot where the hex/screw was supposed to be. After a little digging I discovered it was a painted over! But now that I can, do I dare proceed? Dun Dun DAH!

Anyways, thanks again folks. Im glad I can count on the support of our little community.
