Crye "SPARTAN" facial armor

Intended to strap onto a standard ACH and provide the same sort of protection as the "chops" for their airframe.

Hurry up China factories and stamp this out of nylon!

Im not too sure. I was watching another shot show video, and the guy asked if it was ballistic. The sales rep responded by saying "yes, just like the helmet." (refering to the new lid they have coming out).

actually, no: it's not trapping in as much moisture as you think: the way the mouth area is slotted open allows your breath to exhaust directly out into the open, same as from your nose. What causes moisture catching is when there is no slot or there's a mesh where the shielding in front bounces some of the moist air back into the breathing area and potentially into your goggles: with this, the only moisture you probably get is from the cheeks: the way he was able to move it over his goggles clears for that when it's vented over his helmet. Trust me: paintball masks do much more moisture catching than this: considerably.

Remember that maxiofacial protection is not intended to stop bullets; it's there to protect the face from fragmentation, ie a grenade going off or more likely an IED.

The new CF helmet being developed is going the same route; although predictably with a "made in canada/developed by canadian scientists/half as effective as if we had bought it off the shelf" approach.

The helmet looks as if it needs to be used in tandem with some sort of mouth protection in order to be used as a solid mask.

At first I was like, "HORY SHET I NEED ONE!11!" And then I was like, "Wait. Damn."

meh, this is probably not so awesome against a stream of BBs straight to the face, because of the central opening...

If they made something like this i would buy one!
As long as it protects the teeth that i have left,
Instead of breaking them like last year FML.

It's the only full face I'd be willing to wear. And that would be only for CQB or special purpose outdoor milsims.
