Plate carrier colour change
I am in line to purchase a grey plate carrier vest+ two mag pouches, how ever grey will not work with my US tiger stripe camouflage, I was wondering if anyone has tried to dye grey with black? Would it work? If you have done any dying let me know how it worked, any help is appreciated.
Ps. Don't know if this is the right discussion page as its my first time posting |

No. Don't dye anything. Fool's errand. Just buy the right colour.
Black and tiger stripe looks silly, anyways, get a proper earthy colour. |

So should I cancel the purchase of the vest for 45$? Or buy it then auction it off?

butthurt for not having a user title

Hard to say. What brand/ product is it? If it's a ridiculous deal on some high- end or issued kit then it might be worth it, but if it's just some repro you probably won't turn a profit.

nylon is not dyed, the fiber that makes the fabric is made a certain color from factory, there's no dye used, so trying to dye it will result in your clothing soaking up the dye when it rains.

It's a matrix plate carrier, no idea as to the price. I'm trying to get into airsoft, but on a very tight budget.
I'm thinking I'm going to cancel the sale unless the vest is a high quality and is expensive |

If the stuff is made of Cordura there are a bunch of guides online for painting them, from Krylon spray paint to using a cloth rag to dab at it. It may not match your tiger stripe, but ultimately you get the control the color scheme. I've never done it myself (I have made costumes & weapon props for films) but the key seems to be many many light dustings. you want the paint to soak in, not a think skin that'll flake off.

Okay thanks for all of the help guys, I will cancel the sale, but I don't know how to without sounding rude, any suggestions? (I have almost made arrangements to pick it up)
So should I get a condor plate carrier instead? Or just a simple tactical vest for now? |

honestly if budget is a concern get whatever does the job. Sure you don't match but you have what you need to play.

This is the rough idea of what the colour of the vest is and what it looks like |
