Motor position

My mp5 has been making a loud whining grinding noise when under stress like if the spring is half compressed, I think its because my motor is too far or not tight enough the wear is minimal but the top of the gear (nearest to the motor) is where its wearing. I'd assume that means its too tight but am I wrong? I think it also might be a different problem but I could only come up with this. Educate me please.

Uhm changed to a tighbore barrel and battery is not a 7.2v I just took the motor out cleaned the shavings off(was just dust mostly) and put it all back in place seems to be running OK now a bit whiner than stock but im not having the grinding - possibly 1 of the wires may have moved the motor out of place or the handgaurd bottom was odly placed although it was secure. I did change the motor connectors a bit, nothing wrong with them but its another time that the chance of my wires pushing against the motor in the grip could have occured.

edit: fire 20 single fire rounds through and I caused as much strain as possible by almost compelting the cycle then stopping and starting again, nothing unusual a little more motor stress noise but that's probably from all its use and abuse, fired in fuklly auto for 80 more shots no problems at all.

it does sound liek the motor is having a harder time now but I think thats from the issues it was ahving, it has not grinded at all or even edged on grinding so it seems to be ok

Too tight means it jams up. Too loose means the motor gear is grinding the teeth of the bevel gear. One is a no brainer, the other is serious damage. At least it's a good rule of thumb, noise = too far back, clicking = too deep.

Thanks for that answer, lucky I don't think it was that problem because I couldn't get it any closer o.o Still could be a issue contributing though.

Yup, could be, but at least you know how to adjust a motor properly now.

WIRES, BINGO!!

You have to open the pistol grip again and make sure the motor "bounces" freely in there. If a wire is jamming it, you have to pull the motor and make sure of the routing of the wires.

Just a heads up the dust that you see accumulated in the pistol grip is the particles from the brushes of the motor. In many cases brushes are made with high contents of lead and mercury. Don't lick/breathe that in.

it was just on the gear where it wore down, but thanks for that i'll keep it in mind, still shouldn't be tasting anything from a AEG.
