G&G GR-25 body change

I snapped my lower receiver a few months ago and G&G was nice enough to supply me with a brand new upper and lower. Got the lower changed out but the upper is somehow a bigger bitch to change. I have to get the front off of it but to do so, there is a mount for the suppressor at the front end that REFUSES to come off. Anyone have experience with this monstrosity?

The fake gas block? Set screws maybe to start?

Is it a copy of some other SR-25 or their very own thing?

This mutant. I'm afraid of hitting these too hard.

Have you tried knocking those pins out? I have an Ares SR25 now and that's how I got that off my outer barrel.

There's also a grub screw under it on mine.

I would knock out the big roll pin first and see what happens.

Does the outer barrel unscrew right at the gas block?

I just swapped mine out, I’m fairly certain the two at the bottom come out as well as the top one under the gas tube comes out. Then if I remember correctly there is a set screw or something holding it from the bottom as well. But try the three pins and see if it loosens up

It's just that those pins are not keen on moving without considerable force. I don't want to fuck this thing up. I found the grub screw. I'll do some harder hammering tomorrow.

Make sure you have a proper punch. That way it's way easier to drift pins out.

No roofing nails, no allen keys, a proper small punch. Just a couple bucks at Lordco.

Build up a little rest out of some wood so you're not hitting the unsupported barrel. Use soft wood so if you need to drive the pin into the wood you won't damage it.

The 2 big sliver pins underneath may be ornamental, or they may need to come out too. The roll pin should go to either side but those pins may be one side only.

Yeah mine was supported, I used a hex head screwdriver that was the perfect size and I’m fairly certain you gotta want them to move before they will budge
