First Post / My Concern

How's it going, first post on here. I'm a hobby-bassist, and soon-to-be-hired nerd, and I've always had an interest in Airsoft. The problem; I'm 16 (as of a few weeks from now). I realize quite a few people my age (and younger :shock: ) ignore the age cautions and get their parents to buy their stuff, but I think that's pretty disrespectful towards the sport. Hope nobody minds if I basically just tag around here until I'm legally allowed to Airsoft.

Here's my concern; I've done alot of reading, and I've pretty much decided what I would want for my first primary + sec. I'm just worried that by the time I'm 18, the guns (KJW Glock 23 + CA M15A4 Rifle/Full Stock) will maybe be no longer available. Is this a valid concern, or am I just worrying over nothing ?

Also, a side question; would you consider "casual" attire disrespectful, or sloppy? What I mean is, if I or someone were to show up at an airsoft field in a black tee and cargo pants (And maybe some vital kits; mag / pistol holster, and such), would they be frowned upon? I ask this because I've noticed almost an exclusive prefference to really kit out, and wear the real deal, and to be perfectly honest, it just doesn't appeal to me. I'm really just indifferent to the idea of putting on full garb to look the part, when I could probably have just as much fun in reasonably casual dress.

Sorry to go on and on.

Gotcha. Should I be worried about the two pieces I mentioned dissapearing from production though ? I realize it's probably a silly question, but I'm pretty neurotic.

if they do go OOP something just as good or better will most likely be on the market anyway.

I dont think youre limited to waiting however, greylocks wrote a post about playing when youre under 18, do a search on it.

There *are* some fields that will allow you to play, with a waiver signed by your parents (NOT big bro).

Everything he (greylock) advises sounds perfectly reasonable, my only problem is what other players may think (Willing to bet there are atleast a few elitist folks who totally shun the idea of "children" [Hey, its what I am for now, no denial] playing in their sport.).

If you get what I mean.

I am sure if the two peice dissapear by the time you turn 18, then there will be 2 other replacing piece coming out to fill their spots.

Dont wait 2 years to play, 16 is old enough for you to start out, most fields allow players aged 16-18 to play as long as their parents sign a waiver for them that day. Just make sure your parents approve and your good to go, bring them out to a game and possibly rent someones spare/second AEG and try it out that game.

Yeah... its like everything else in the world... old things suck and when they suck they are replaced with better things.... In with the good out with the suck... as for your age, there ARE places that allow 16 year olds to play just as long as you bring a parent... like firemachine said... no big bro... and last but not least... i dont think the dress code matters... usually i'm out there in a west49 hoodie and some black pants... no biggie... others do the same but full clothing looks pretty cool.. makes you like pro

Yea, come Spring time (Or maybe even winter, depending on our weather), I'll definately look into that. Anyone know if FR allows 16 year olds? If so, I'll maybe see if I can hook up with some ASCers and learn a thing or two.

You could also go for the contractor look, cargo pants, t-shirt, 5.11 vest

I also remembered I have a pretty bad ass dust-mask (Looks like the mouth-piece jet pilots wear, its pretty cool). With backwards cap it looks pretty darn cool, and is kind of "stealthy".
