Are there diferent colored ACU patterns?
Is there a desert ACU, woodland etc. Or are all ACUs the same?

Well then why do these two look like one is more urban and the other is more woodland?

They both look the same to me, the first pic, its gotta be the lighting and the second pic...well isnt that was ACU normally looks like. Also you have to take into consideration who is making it, some companies use diffrent fabrics and dyes that can change the color.
Best use of ACU I have seen to date.

There is only one ACU. Although Urban Digi looks like a pair of ACU's was washed with a dark grey sweater.

No, theres only different companies that make different shades. Everyones colors are a bit different. Point blank has the actual pattern, Propper is damn close. Blackhawk is a bit more on the white side. But all these comapnies have the proper proportion of the 3 colors (more foliage green than sand) Whereas Rothco makes their ACU bdus with more white than anything else.
The first picture you showed of that super white ACU is actually the prototype model and is never to be produced ever again. I suspect the second picture is the same colors in different lighting, but they replaced the white with sand and theres not as much of it anymore. This is what real issue ACU looks like in a green environment on a cloudy day: http://photos-a.ak.facebook.com/phot...18232_5991.jpg Although it stands out ALOT in sunshine, once it gets dirty (soldiers wear it everyday so it gets dirty faster) it doesn't reflect nearly as much. It works great in the shadows though as it's specifically designed to absorb color from its surrounding, which is also why it looks a bit different in every picture. |

Since ACU is the "cut", and the camo pattern is actually called "UCP". ...but i always just call it acu too since everyone knows what the hell you are talking about.
