Upgraded Marui P226 Failure to Feed

Hi,

I've got a Marui P226 with an upgraded parts list as follows (to my knowledge):

Guarder MBK,
Shooters Design Nozzle,
Creation Hammer,
PDI .01 Inner Barrel,
Creation Threaded Outer Barrel.

The nozzle is failing to pick up BB's from the magazines, unless pressure is manually applied to the floorplate. I suspect it's a tolerance issue with the Guarder kit, but the gun was reported to be functional when sold to me, and the upgrade work was performed for the previous owner by ILLusion, so I'm inclined to believe them.

Is there a way to remedy this easily?

Try another magazine and another mag release.

Very weird. mine has the same issue (issue poped up randomly, worked perfect for 8 months when this happened) except with a PRIME metal kit, same deal no feed unless pressure on magazine base plate.

I tried new mag release and all of my mags did the exact same thing. However, when I tried the original TM plastic slide it was fixed. Pistol is currently with Illusion.

could it be the feed rod ( the lil piece under the nozzle ) it pushes the bb up the feed ramp , could be worn down a bit or bent or broken ?

I would be looking at the nozzle first, and the loading nub as peacekeeper mentioned.

With mine anyway, swapped it out twice, and same result. I believe its related to how the whole blow back unit sits in the slide.

The loading nub is in excellent condition, and the issue appears with 4 or 5 out of 6 mags, although not 100% of the time. Oddly enough, the whole BBU sits slightly low in the slide, but the problem persists.

Are there aftermarket mag releases that fit tighter?

The nub can be fine and still not load BBs properly.

Going out on a limb here...
What about shimming the mechanism down? Put a single thickness piece of paper above it's mounting point and see if it lowers into position?

Then what did you intend to diagnose by looking at it?

The BBU? That causes friction with the frame, but it can be filed down to work. Might be easier to shim the notch in my mags where the catch engages to hold them up tighter.

I sense some smugness here. Looking at it while loading BB's to see what it's doing. Someone with some experience would be able to tell if it's acting correctly or not.

None intended, thought you meant just looking at the feeding nub. I have looked at it while loading, and it's contacting the BB too high. The nozzle unit is shunted to the side when the slide is ridden forward gradually. Perhaps a symptom of tight feed lips? They may have been compressed in kydex by the previous owner. The gun is more likely to feed when using the slide release, as compared to shooting or powerstroking.

Have you tried spreading the feed lips?

You need a new nozzle. Try a Guarder or something.
I had a crappy SD nozzle that I tried in my Hicapa as well. Nub was too flimsy and contacted too high, just pushed the BB down instead of loading.
