Same as the Bolt action, get a better inner and a better hopup unit/bucking.

If you are not comfortable opening the mechbox, send it off to a gun tech after a season of gaming to have it cleaned and re-greased. Have them recommend some air seal improving parts as well.

Starting with an AEG is a good move. The Cyma M14 is a decent gun. All you need at first would be an hop up rubber upgrade, you don't have to touch the gearbox, and its by far the most effective and cheap upgrade you can do on that rifle. Get a PDI W hop rubber, a Modify accurate rubber or a Reaps A+ rubber. There are other good rubbers on the market, but these 3 are easy to find and reliable rubbers.

The only thing that isn't very good on that rifle is the charging handle. It's made of really cheap pot metal, so don't abuse it and you shouldn't have any problem with it (you don't have to use the charging handle, its decorative only).

^ I have read so much about new players NOT to get a bolt action, hence the move. Thanks again guys. I love the gun. I added a M2 Reddot + sight rail on it. The optic seems a little tall, I might install it to the fore rail.

Ok, all this hop up talk, can you please PM the info? I don't really know much about modifying and obtaining parts for it.

Thanks!

There is tons of info down in the Upgrades & Modifications forums.

A good, inexpensive, place to start though would be a prommy or lonex 6.03 of the length you need and a Lonex 50 degree rubber.

i realised also that bolt action are expensive to mod. Money goes fast if you want great accuracy. Otherwise, it's shoot and pray type , at the beginning.

If you don't want to pay too much , JG makes the best VSR-10 replica. 99% compatible parts with TM vsr-10 , known as bar-10.

The place you got the M14 from has the modify rubber in stock, it's $7,95. They also have the Reaps rubber at $12,50. Both are excellent rubbers, you might get a bit more range with the reaps rubber, but as usual in Airsoft, nothing is guaranteed. Different hop units and barrel combinations work better with different rubbers.
