Someone higher up finally told this fellow what was what and the whole matter was dropped; however because of this "incident" any aftermarket accessories are now banned at my Unit.

Well I am posted out, the house is being packed as I type this; but my Unit has a Troop of dismounted pers who hump their gear everywhere and practically everyone has festooned their C7's with aftermarket vert grips, stocks, some rail systems (KAC M5's) and some sights as well... Sucks to be them...

I keep hearing the CF prohibits personal adaptations of issued weapons, but then I see photos, like this:

This image was released through official channels... Here's the caption:

I think what it comes down to is your role, who your CO is, and what they have been told.

From the amount of non-issue kit being rocked by Sgt Adams, I'd guess his CO is a very liberal minded leader. Perhaps some senior members are allowed extra freedoms to experiment with equipment in order to determine what works best? That would be very forward thinking!

Yea, that looks like a pretty sweet weapon, I've looked at the 6934 uppers, and they are available, just not cheap...

I'd guess that he isn't. The photo would have to be from behind him to see what the muzzle is actually pointing at.
