10)Notes and Comments (Optional)

definate toy gun feel to it,,but suprisingly it shoots a 6mm bb just as far as my socom does. claimed fps of 350,,i will get back to you on this when its chrono'd. on the plus this gun is uber cheap, fires really well considering the fixed hop-up,and fits holsters well. i like to run pistol primary alot and i will be running this gun through its paces. i intend to treat it like a red headed step child just to see what it can take.

*** UPDATE ***

little clearsoft pistol is still running strong. put a rediculous amount of ammo through it with not even so much as one misfeed. i thought it was going to be a joke but im impressed with this invesment so far. i was also impressed with the fps of an $80.00 dollar pistol, she chrono's in at a solid 327 fps with a m/t .20 bb. to be sure there was no mistake it was re-chronoed on a differant date and chrono with the same numbers. the disassembly of this weapon is almost the same as an airsoft gbb. i will work on making a video representation of the break down.

this spring pistol is quite handsome, other than its ugly orange grips. It has a nice weight and perfectly balanced. The cocking action is very smooth and easy. The mag is very trickey to figure out, and it very stubbern.. with a 12 round cap. this is the best spring pistol i have ever owned, and it a personal favourite.

1) Make and Model
-- TM P226 Rail (Using Propane)
2) Date Purchased
-- February 2007
3) Cost
-- 290$
4) New/Used?
-- New
5) Mechanical Problems
-- Due to the 226 Mag Design (Dunno about other pistol mags) the mag is two seperate pieces held together with a long allenkey bolt/screw. Overloading your mag with bbs will cause the two pieces to force open and gush out propane which in turn superfreezes your mag with possible damage to O rings. Fortunately mine havent broke, but many times theyve shrunk and ive had to wait till it warms and expands to normal size again to use again. Mags are easy to fix, and parts are easily accessable and removeable. Tightening the flow valve, intake valve or the allen key screw/bolt usually solves any leaky mag problems.
6) Esthetic Problems
-- Plastic body gets scratched up easily. I wouldnt be surprised if one day a round hitting the slide will crack or snap it. Metal kit should solve any forseeable problems.
7) Rounds Fired Between Failures
-- Other than leaky mags, No failures yet (At least 1500 rounds)
8) Changes to Internals
-- None yet, but planning on the following
-- Guarder Full Metal Lower Receiver (Black)
-- Guarder Full Metal Slide (Chrome)
-- Guarder Stainless Threaded Outer Barrel (14mm Negative)
-- Some Reinforced Metal Internals to replace plastic ones.
9) Resale Date and Value
-- Never! Im in LOVE!!!
10) Optional - Notes and Comments
-- I dont think ill ever put high flow valves or performance upgrades to this pistol, Its ment for close range and 290-310 is reasonable. It shoots straight and gets some pretty good distance. No reason to potentially hurt someone.
-- My pistol is my baby. My rifle is the star of the show, but my pistol is my pride and joy.
Im definately getting a metal kit and the threaded outter barrel. Gonna have an adaptor machined out so i can put my TM tracer unit onto it and attach a STAR QD Taclite + Laser unit to it.
-- With the mag (which is really heavy for a mag) inside it, the pistol feels very balanced and has a good heft to it. But when you take the mag out, its front heavy and feels awkward and clumbsy. Again, Metal kit should solve this.
-- After Outdoor games, (Because im using plastic slide) pulling the slide back, or ejecting mag or hitting the decocking lever etc etc, theres a grainy sound from sand getting inside the slide. On the field theres not much you can do about it, but i recommend (even if you have full metal kit) that you completely strip your pistol down, (Internals too) and clean every part out. I use an air hose to blow out all the sand, then use a damp cloth to clean out all the residue, Regrease, Reassemble, and the slide works like new.

Still running strong as of 2008, no problems in the 4 years of having this gun. Added on a Classic Army Universal Laser Sight, that apparently can't be used at any fields but...cats love lasers!

1) Manufacturer & Model:
Western Arms Infinity 5" Standard (double stack) GBB Pistol
-
2) Date Obtained:
March 2006
-
3) Initial Cost:
$285 CAD (FMU+3 mags)
-
4) New or Used:
Used by 1 previous owner for 1 year before I acquired it in March '06
-
5) Mechanical Problems:
None with the pistol (Only the worn out original nozzle has recently been replaced). The mags have a flaw in the design— since only a plastic base plate holds in the spring and guides if you drop one and it breaks the base those parts will come flying out.
-
6) Esthetic Problems:
None. Only slight wear from excessive indoor and some outdoor use The finish and integrity of the metal and plastic has held up nicely over time
-
7) Rounds fired between failures:
1000s (1.5 years) before the nozzle developed a chip so It was replaced with s Shooters Design (Feb 07) and no issues since.
-
8) Changes to Internals and Externals (upgrades, mods, dates)
In early 2005 the new stock gun was fitted with an aluminum Infinity slide by SD, fancy metal parts for the trigger/hammer, upgraded springs, a front glow sight, a metal rail via 2 tapped holes into the under frame fitted for use with a Streamlight TLR1. A couple months after I got the gun I installed a longer accurate inner from a WA ProKiller, cover by the threaded PK outer barrel.
-
9) Resale Date and Value if applicable.
NA
-
10)Notes and Comments (Optional)
Definitely my best overall experience with a GBB so far. This gun was a reliable side arm and primary for the original owner and continues to be my main weapon at CQB (TTAC3) Only one gun part has broken in all its life (nozzle), takes my abuse, shoots straight, hard and loud. I recently tried to install all hiflow valves into my mags but the metal used by Modify was soft, so the vales deformed when tightened and leaked. The stock brass valves continue to out preform the after market ones. I'd recommend this gun to anyone— It's been run on propane and green gas it's whole life and been a 5 out of 5 star piece.

6) Esthetic Problems
barrel tip became a bit loose after gradual wear and tear, the top screw securing it lost a lot of its teeth and doesn't secure the nozzle very tightly, fixed with black nylon ties x 3 (completely hidden inside the handguard) (2006)

the plastic creaks slightly during heavy use, but otherwise still very sturdy
