1) Manufacturer, Model Name
- Classic Army M24 - Military Model

2) Date Obtained
- October - November, 2006 Can't remember the exact date.

3) Initial Cost
- $671

4) New or Used
- Brand new.

5) Mechanical Problems (Gearbox issues, hopup issues.. basically functional performance related -- supply date of issue)

-Bolt doesnt have any plastic 'guides' like the TM VSR does. so the bolt pull may be prone to jamming if dirt gets inside of it. Metal against metal.

-Hopup tends to get knocked out of whack if you're not careful, its best to find the perfect setting for your bb weight and such, and use a light, non-permanant lock-tite paste to keep the hopup screw in place.

6) Esthetic Problems (Paint damage, cracks in body, loose parts.. physical construction related -- supply date of issue)

-The bolt used to click and stop moving out of line with the bolt rest (Not sure what the word is where the bolt rests and ready to fire) From a few months use after purchasing, A stopper inside the bolt wore down and broke away, ball bearings and a small spring were lost (There are about two inside) and the bolt is generally loose. It doesnt hinder performance if you get used to working the bolt straight, sometimes the bolt will hit the back of the receiver if you're not careful.
A good fix is just to take a thick O-ring and stick it between the bolt where the Ball bearings and springs used to be, works perfectly this way.

-Magazines for the M24 are 'very' cheaply built, Very brittle plastic, the feeding lips break away and cause double feeding. People say the magazines are fixable by cutting and placing metal lips yourself. I still have yet to test this myself. A good solution to this is just keep your magazines empty when storing. (Its an obvious thing to do, but some people don't)

-O-Rings are used to put pressure down on the M24's hopup unit. They wear out 'very' fast. The problem is that the particular fit for the hopup is hard to find. So it'd be best to run to your local hardware store to see if any ones fit properly. If its too big, reinserting the barrel/hopup unit will be very hard.

- Screws come loose easily, Expecially around the triggerbox. The ones that screw to the barrel/body are completely fine, but the ones that keep the Triggerboxes working bits tend to get knocked out of whack every now and then. Again, use a light locktite

7) Rounds fired between failures (think how many bags of BB's used before it failed. If no failure, list rounds fired up to this point)

-A good 10,000+ and still going(I plink with it like crazy). The only failures are from bad magazine lips, and if the hopup unit stop screw is tightened too hard.

- Other causes of failures is simply overtightening screws around the hopup unit. Easy fix.

8) Changes to Internals and Externals (upgrades, mods, dates)

- PSS2 M130 spring (400 FPS)
- PSS2 Ball-Bearing spring guide.
- KN Hopup unit.

-Been painted MANY times.

9) Resale Date and Value if applicable.
- Not sellin' this. Ever.

10)Notes and Comments (Optional)

-Despite the finnickeyness of the rifle, the Classic Army m24 is an amazing rifle, It stays consistant and accurate if you take care of the rifle, and is built like a rock. I highly recommend it if you like the looks of a M700/m24, and a solidly built gun. Upgradability is great.

- NOT newb freindly. It was my first gun, but I had anticipated the rifles known finnicekey nature and researched everything around it for a good couple years. If you've got no clue what you're doing, this would be a bad buy.

1) Manufacturer, Model Name
Jing Gong, AU-1G (AUG A2)
2) Date Obtained
April 2007
3) Initial Cost
$80 - bought (illegally) in Shanghai, China (I used to live there) xD
4) New or Used
New, 1 month after it came out.
5) Mechanical Problems (Gearbox issues, hopup issues.. basically functional performance related)
Lost about 10 FPS or so over one and a half years.
6) Esthetic Problems (Paint damage, cracks in body, loose parts.. physical construction related)
Entire front receiver is metal, scrapes easily take paint with them, but not too much. Front field strip screw under the charging handle was lost, replaced with a regular screw. Charging handle sounds really cheap and clunky.
7) Rounds fired between failures (think how many bags of BB's used before it failed)
12,000, no failure.
8) Changes to Internals (upgrades, dates)
Silicone oil applied to barrel. WD-40 applied a few times to barrel and gearbox when I was out of other options... Is this bad?
9) Resale Date and Value if applicable.
I might sell, I got an offer of $700, with accessories.

The key points are as follows:
1) Manufacturer, Model Name (name of weapon on box, and weapon replicated if different from model name)
-UTG M3s

2) Date Obtained
-Dec 08
3) Initial Cost-$140CAD
4) New or Used-New
5) Mechanical Problems (Gearbox issues, hopup issues.. basically functional performance related -- supply date of issue)
-none* By the end of a full year and playing in cold weather (-5 to -10) the springs have finally died and the range and fps had dropped to less than 1/3 of the original specs
6) Esthetic Problems (Paint damage, cracks in body, loose parts.. physical construction related -- supply date of issue)
-none- gun is remarkably solid
7) Rounds fired between failures (think how many bags of BB's used before it failed. If no failure, list rounds fired up to this point)
-easily 10,000 or so till the spring died
8) Changes to Internals and Externals (upgrades, mods, dates)
-
9) Resale Date and Value if applicable.
-scrapped for parts for my DE shotty
10)Notes and Comments (Optional)
-*no adjustable hop up means BBs types are key with this shotty- they suggest .2s but we found it was even more complex than that: for example with the 3 UTG shottys we used Sunday, a .2g Matrix BB works fine, a .2 bioBB works passably well, but a .2g Metal Tech BB will go 20 feet then shoot straight up. A .23g Matrix or .25g Matrix BB works well enough if you bomb them in by adjusting your aim slightly higher but a .25g Echo1 BB just doesnt seem to fly as far...

-shells; Every now and then your shells will give you a 'UTG special' where between 4 and 6 BBs shoot out rather than just 3. Sadly these dont fly near as far and since you dont know they are coming you cant really adjust for the extra BBs.

Last edited by MillerBRo; November 6th, 2009 at 01:15.. Reason: edit-shells feed extra BBs

1) Manufacturer, Model Name (name of weapon on box, and weapon replicated if different from model name)
- KJW KP-05 Hicapa
2) Date Obtained
- April '09
3) Initial Cost
- $200
4) New or Used
- Almost New
5) Mechanical Problems (Gearbox issues, hopup issues.. basically functional performance related -- supply date of issue)
- Slide jams about 1/8" before it returns completely forward (my fault)
6) Esthetic Problems (Paint damage, cracks in body, loose parts.. physical construction related -- supply date of issue)
- Outer barrel has free play in the slide
7) Rounds fired between failures (think how many bags of BB's used before it failed. If no failure, list rounds fired up to this point)
-5000
8) Changes to Internals and Externals (upgrades, mods, dates)
-TK Twist Barrel
9) Resale Date and Value if applicable.
-
10)Notes and Comments (Optional)
- I bought this gun practically new, it had no wear or marks whatsoever and had hardly been fired, and I got it on monday, and now today (2 days later) the slide or the outer barrel is jamming before the slide can fully return forward, so it simply can't be used anymore. I've spent about 6 hours today trying to get it to work, and nothing has had any effect at all. *edit* ok I found out that the breakage was completely my fault, but i got it working again anyways.
