Hey guys, I want to get a clip loaded sniper rifle...

No but seriously, are there clip loaded sniper rifles in airsoft, and by clip, I mean like stripper clips...

You could put a scope on a dboys Karabiner but you still wouldn't hit anything with it.

A Sniper is one who hunts snipes, a bird which the term originally came from in england. Snipes were notorious for flying away on the first sight of trouble, which prevented hunters from sneaking up to them. The only method of killing the snipe was to kill them at long range, which required considerable accuracy. Thus the "sniper" was born.

Not an unreasonable request. Considering the written word is our only means of expression on this forum (for the most part) I can see no reason why you would not want to encourage that posts are at least legible.

Typographical errors and minor mistakes not withstanding.

Also pointing out grammatical errors that do not prevent someone from understanding a statement is just plain stupid. People make mistakes or frankly do not have the same level of language skills as the next or they type like they talk and subsequently have mistakes.

Heck I can find at least half a dozen if not more grammatical errors and punctuation mistakes in my post alone.

One day i will have a Ban-Hammer and enforce the laws on the human race and we Gingers will rise again!! GINGER POWER!!

, but in all seriousness i agree strongly with this thread and the word "sniper" is used in the wrong way and is abused by 12 year old kids and general newbie retards who litter the forms with garbage.

Can we still call people who sell combat gear "gear whores"?

Actually I think they'd be "gear pimps" because they are not the item being sold. Those who frequently buy gear could be "gear johns" though.

That coupled with a low education. Why can't people just assume when someone says sniper they mean the actual gun (in specific contexts). Launguage shouldn't have to be spoon fed to you. At least they are spelling it right and not replacing the I with a 1.

How difficult is it to put "rifle" at the end of "sniper" to confirm they are indeed talking about the rifle itself, and not CDN_Stalker?
Although I wouldn't mind having a Stalker of my own to provide me with covering fire from the safety of my own home while I'm out at games...

Because that's not what the word means. If I have a red car, I write red car because "Red" is the adjective, and car is the noun. I wouldn't say I drive a red, because that doesn't make sense.

A rifle is a noun. A person, place or thing. A "sniper" is also colloquially a noun, but it more properly an adjective when used in conjunction with another noun. Using it by itself changes the context of the entire sentence, which is incorrect.

Why is this so difficult to understand?

I always thought the correct term was Sniper's Rifle, with the possessive apostrophe.
