Starter Rifle

What would you guys recommend for a good first airsoft rifle. It's gotta be electric, full auto, decent accuracy, and rate of fire isn't a big concern.

Get age verified. You have to be 18. If you are not 18+ then you're going to have to wait a few years. If you are 18+, then Tokyo Marui is always a good choice. If you want to go a little more expensive then the Classic Army line of M4's are all metal. You can buy from 007airsoft.com or from shootsoft.cabut you must be age-verified to visit shootsoft. Good luck!

"Some research" doesn't cut it in the airsoft world. If you've done "some research" then you would know both are fine guns for starting. Just depends what style of playing you'll have and where you'll be playing. Not to mention which gun is more comfortable for you. WE can't tell you what gun is best for YOU.

What is good is a matter of opinion, in most cases though cost is reflective of quality.

Gun reviews can be found all over the internet, regardless which search engine you use, a different combination of search words can yield different searches. Let me keep it short and sweet, for the bulk of it, AEGS are simple motors that drive pistons that compress a spring to expel air to propel a BB down a barrel. How you want that set up to look is up to you. There are many brands of companies out there that make airsoft guns, how much you pay maybe relevant to the quality you receive.

Something else to consider is how easy it would be for you to attain additional magazines and replacements parts for your selected AEG.

there really isnt no "best starter" its just everyones opinions

find a gun that you like

then read reviews if it sounds good and can do what you want then there you go

If you're going with most compatibility/ upgradability an M4 or AK of some sort would be your best model. There are innumerable options for both of those platforms and offer you a chance to create a gun to your liking. They also offer options from both sides of the Canada/ US vs. Terrorists conflict that's going on now, as well as the old school Cold War and Vietnam War era conflicts to suit almost all your tastes.

I'd recommend G&P for a manufacturer over any other, but their internals do require a minimal bit of work out of the box. So if you can't get that work done, or can't do it yourself, your next best bet is a Classic Army gun.

I was pretty set on the tokyo marui g3sg1 but i saw a video online of this guy saying that he had it for 3 days had only shot it twice and the gears messed up. So that made me kind of uneasy. and although i love the basic design of the ump i havent seen many options for customizations and im worried that with such a short barrel the accuracy will severly suffer.

If you know your gun, you can fix anything. It could have been a simple shim job and the gun would shoot right as rain. UMP's may be a more rare item as far as popularity and upgradability. However, if your looking at internal upgrades you need parts that match the version of the gearbox. Shorter barrels can be less accurate then say an M16 but you also need to consider what your going to be using this weapon for. Woodland? CQB?
Get verified and come on down to the classifieds, you'll kick yourself for buying over priced stuff and waiting 3 months at 007.
